1 Upgrade instruction

1.1 About software version

This is software version for U9200-1V100R001C00B229 product, please operate

after read the upgrade guideline carefully .

(1) Software requirement

a. Before upgrade, please guarantee the version you use is Huawei official

version, or else it may upgrade failed or cause unknown problem.

b. Dont try to upgrade software of other country or customization, or else it may

upgrade failed or cause unknown problem.

(2) Hardware requirment

This the software suits to U9200-1 product, it can only use for U9200-1 product ,

and it may cause cant power on if you use this software on other product.

Any problem cause by user dont follow the instructions, Huawei will not

provide in warranty service .

1.2 About Upgrade Preparation

Back up your personal data before upgrade , the upgrade process will wipe all user

data.

To make sure that the power of the battery is enough to run the upgrade process.

Maybe you can connect the handset with the charger or the USB data cable to provide

power.

2 Version introduction

2.2 Upgrade prerequisite

The U9200-1 handset software should be updated with the MICRO SD card.

2.3 Upgrade files

3 Upgrade preparation

3.1 Check current upgrade environment

Make sure that the MICRO SD card is available and can be read and write.

3.2 Get and check the software package

1 According to the chapter 2.3, check the software package date and the file size.

2. Copy the dload folder to SD card, the directory is /sdcard/dload/UPDATE.APP

4 Upgrade introduction

There are two methods to upgrade: normal upgrade and force upgrade.

Normal upgrade needs to start the handset and enter the Setting module. Force

upgrade is often used when the handset cant boot up or cant enter the idle screen. If

need force upgrade, please pull out the battery and set again.

5 Upgrade operations

Notices:

1. Upgrade will erase the user data, please backup your data before upgrade.

2. Ensure that the power is at least 15% left when upgrading.

5.1 Force upgrade

Step 1. A MICRO SD card of 1GB or more should be available. The MICRO SD card

made by Sandisk, Kingstone, or Kingmax is recommended.

Step 2. Format the MICRO SD card (This operation is optional).

Step 3. Make sure that there is an UPDATE.APP under the dload. Copy the Main

package of dload in PC to dload of SD card.

Step 4. Make sure your handset is power off. Insert the MICRO SD card into the

handset. Pressing the VOLUME UP key and VOLUME DOWN key, then press

the POWER key to power on the phone, and VOLUME UP key and VOLUME

DOWN key should be pressed more than 3 seconds, then enter the Software

Upgrade Mode.

Step 5.

Phone will restart automatically after the upgrade process finished, and then

need restore phone to factory defaults ( for preload resources such as music and

pictures wont become effective until factory defaults is restored) as following

operations: dialing *#*#2846579#*#* on phone screen ->ProjectMenu->Restore

factory defaults.

5.2 Normal upgrade

Step 1. A MICRO SD card of 1GB or more should be available. The MICRO SD card

made by Sandisk, Kingstone, or Kingmax is recommended.

Step 2. Format the MICRO SD card (This operation is optional).

Step 3. Make sure that there is an UPDATE.APP under the dload. Copy the Main

package of dload in PC to dload of SD card.

Step 4. Insert the MICRO SD card into the handset and power on. After entering the

home screen, press menu key to choose Settings->Storage->Software

Upgrade->SD card Upgrade->Confirm->Upgrade to start the upgrade. Reference

to the following pictures.

Step 6.

Phone will restart automatically after the upgrade process finished, and then need restore

6 Upgrade validate
