Responsibilities:

Co-ordinate the Gas plant/ pipeline engineering aspects of projects to ensure that
technical objectives are met within the approved scope, budget and schedule.

Monitor and review Contractors Gas plant/ pipeline engineering effort and make
recommendations to Senior Engineering Co-coordinator.

Draft/ review/ approve the pipeline route survey and laying work processes.

Prepare the documentation required by the necessary regulatory bodies with special
reference to the pipeline route survey and laying works.

Prepare and maintain the BOD for the pipeline project in order to ensure that all
disciplines work to consistent and up-to-date information. The BOD will be
maintained in a current condition throughout the project phases by regular review
and updates.

Develop specifications for the design, material selection, procurement, installation,


testing, commissioning and operation of the various pipelines in service with
Company.
Maintain pipeline records of all existing pipelines in order to avoid unplanned pipeline
crossings, etc.

Co-ordinate land acquisitions and secure pipeline right of way (ROW) easement.

for interdisciplinary tasks.

Identify issues that impede project progress and report to the Senior Engineering Co-
coordinator.

Prepare and present man-hour estimates, PEP and weekly reports, progress reports,
etc as required.

Technically evaluate and specify equipment and services associated with pipeline
laying exercise.

Ensure the implementation of HSE requirements throughout all the phases of


pipeline system design.

To participate in HAZOPs and other key design reviews.

Co-ordinate and maintain pipelines environmental assessment studies and


developing mitigation strategies.

Identify new methodology of work process required for higher productivity.

Carry out conceptual studies, including techno-economic feasibility studies for


optimum pipeline design development.

Provide site pipeline laying engineering support as well as other interdisciplinary


support should the requirement arise.
Carry out site visits, as required, to confirm that the works is being executed by
Contractor as specified in the Contract.

Monitor and approve as-built documentation prepared by contractor and prepare

Project: Northern Option Pipeline - NOPL (24 x 51KM - EPCC)

Responsibilities:

Company.

Responsibilities:

Perform basic calculations such as minimum wall thickness for heat exchangers,
vessels and piping
Carry out in process inspection and testing of fabrication, construction and
installation activities.

Undertake quality control activities during project execution to assure quality of


completed work and that requirement of design and specifications are met.

Identification and documentation of non-conformities detected and ensuring that


adequate corrective action is carried out.

Verification and review of all record issued surveillance, inspection and testing
identification of the inspection and test status. Designs, constructs and modifies
equipment and facilities such as separators and treaters, transfer pumps;
compressors, vapor recovery units; simple pipeline.

Manages the preparation of plans for pre-commissioning, commissioning and start


up of mechanical equipment packages.

Provides reliability and integrity input to the development and implementation of the
Asset Integrity Management process.

Provides engineering support for design of production equipments.

Works with project engineering to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new
and modified installations. Responsible for adhering to the life cycle asset
management (LCAM) process throughout the entire life cycle of new assets.

Participates in the development of design and installation specifications along with


commissioning plans. Participates in the development of criteria for and evaluation of
equipment and technical MRO suppliers and technical maintenance service
providers. Develops acceptance tests and inspection criteria.

Participates in the final check-out of new installations. This includes factory and site
acceptance testing that will assure adherence to functional specifications.

Guides efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes,


utilities, facilities, controls and safety/security systems.

Professionally and systematically defines, designs, develops, monitors and refines


an asset maintenance plan that includes:

o Value-added preventive maintenance tasks

o Effective utilization of predictive and other non-destructive testing


methodologies designed to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems
Provides input to a risk management plan that will anticipate reliability-related and
non-reliability-related risks that could adversely impact plant operations.

Develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that
adversely affect plant operations. These problems include capacity, quality, cost or
regulatory compliance issues. To fulfill this responsibility, the reliability engineer
applies:

o Data analysis techniques that can include:

Statistical process control

Reliability modeling and prediction

Fault tree analysis

Act as a focal point/technical authority for Reliability engineering questions
throughout the engineering design, construction and installation phases of
Companys Gas plant / pipeline projects.

Reliability engineering input to other disciplines to ensure that design outputs are
consistent.

Act as Company authority for the review of the pipeline aspects of Design Bases,
design drawings, specifications, installation procedures, etc.

Act as required as the Company representative to ensure that design work by


contractors meets Company standards and relevant industry codes

Monitor the performance of design contractors and suggest remedial actions to avoid
design deficiencies and installation delays.

Assist Company resident and/or project engineers with the Reliability engineering
aspects of Facilities design.

Assist construction and commissioning teams with field questions encountered


during installation (e.g. as related to pipe laying, risers, tie-ins, hydrotesting, welding,
etc.)

Initiate and coordinate tasks needed for project execution including surveys,
permitting or government reviews, material specification, installation procedures,
testing, etc.

Participate in HAZOPs, HAZID and other key design reviews.

Assist in the development Nigerian pipeline engineers.

Responsibilities:

Carry out in process inspection and testing of fabrication, construction and


installation activities.

Undertake quality control activities during project execution to assure quality of


completed work and that requirement of design and specifications are met.
Identification and documentation of non-conformities detected and ensuring that
adequate corrective action is carried out.

Verification and review of all record issued surveillance, inspection and testing
identification of the inspection and test status.

Revised AFC drawing to reflect approved changes, verifying WPS & radiographic
procedure, prequalifying welders.

Underground Piping and Cable Installations:

Interpretation of isometric drawing, process engineering flow scheme (PEFS), cable


routing drawing, P&ID and GAD.

Monitor continuity tests on the cables for resistance check between cable sheath and
ground.

Supervise laying of fiber optic signal cables [single mode] and composite cables to
central processing facility unit; and remote location.

Trench backfilling and erection of sign posts for identification / traceability of cable
lines.

Supervise fit up inspection and final heat / adhesive bonding of underground HDPE
and GRE pipes.

Supervise stringing/pipe laying and fit-up prior to welding/NDT/wrapping of SS, CS


and galvanized CS pipes.

Monitor pneumatic/hydro testing activities, drying, and checking of due temperature


of the lines.

Piping Fabricating, Installation and Erection:

Make provision for weld number, reference WPS, NDT, PWHT, on isometric
drawings, specifying the class of piping in accordance to the fluid handled and line
specification.

Ensure that NDT requirements are followed.

Review bill of materials by material identification and marking, review punch list.

Raise weld traceability and material traceability report and check cleanliness and
damage of bores, bevels and face of piping materials.
Carry out dimensional and fit-up control of piping prior to erection and verifying
correct location of permanent piping supports.

Issue piping erection reports, updating applicable isometric drawings and diagrams
with all As-built information.

Review test packs and carry out line check prior to pressure testing of lines, monitor
hydro/pneumatic testing of lines; and reinstatement after flushing and drying.

Ensure technical integrity thru: daily visual inspections, audits, non-conformance,


corrective action, and change controls.

Review bill of materials by material identification and marking, review punch list.

Raise weld traceability and material traceability report and check cleanliness and
damage of bores, bevels and face of piping materials.

Carry out dimensional and fit-up control of piping prior to erection and verifying
correct location of permanent piping supports.

Update applicable isometric drawings and diagrams with all As-build information.

Test Packaging for hydro and pneumatic Testing of spools, NDT RT/PT/MT

Prepared punch list for mechanical Completion, pre-commissioning and start-up.

Mechanical Installation (Rotating and Static Equipment)

Identifying of equipment location from drawing

Check for absence of damage on equipment prior to installation

Ensure equipment is installed according to the orientation, and sole elevation as


specified by drawing and vendors installation manual

Check for positioning, plumpness, vertically and anti-vibration mountings

Ensure pre-alignment and final alignment of rotating equipment (pumps,


compressors) are within acceptable specifications.
Carry out vibration tests on installed rotating equipment.

Steam /Gas Turbine Installation Inspection:

Foundation check as regards location, elevation and the level in accordance with
approved drawing.

Padding elevation inspection and another anchor bolt positioning as specified in the
approved drawing

Installation of turbine bearings after anchor bolt elephant feet grouting

Alignment/centering of generator/turbine bearings using pino wire and hydraulic lift

Installation of generator rotor and steam/gas turbine rotor

Preliminary alignment of turbine shaft/rotor to generator

Inspection of shaft/rotor parallelism using filler gauge and final alignment after piping
connection.

Bolt torque inspection of the anchor bolts and other bolts that require torque

Inspection of the auxiliary units, equalizing units and blow out pipe/valve.

Balance of Plant Equipment (BOP) These includes storage tanks, pumps, closed and
aerial cooling water system etc;
Arial/Close Cooling
Aerial/Closed Cooling Water System:

Check a on hub, blade and motor prior to installation

Monitoring installation of the cooling system

Inspector of the pitch/blade angle and tip clearance

Fan pulley to motor pulley alignment.

Check of belt tensioning and vibration of the fan

Mechanical completion check of the cooling system

Storage Tank:
Identification and quality check of the material.

Circularity mark and centering check on the foundation as per the approved drawing.

Inspection of tank bottom profile and orientation of nozzle and sump pit.

Inspection of root arrangement and other mechanical installation activities.

Overhead Crane:

Check on receive material /preservation of material.

Check on straightness of track and elevation of crane rail.

Inspection of assemble condition.

Post installation check on the motion of crane, hoist, speed and brake condition
without slippage.

Check on the load/deflection test under 125% over load condition

SKILL PROFILE:

Ability to interpret Piping and Instrumentation Drawing (P&ID), Process Flow diagram
(PFD) and Safety Analysis Function Evaluation (SAFE) charts

Strong knowledge of specific codes API and industry standards and practices
applicable to the design and installation of fixed and rotating mechanical equipment

Demonstrated knowledge of reliability and integrity processes and tools such as


Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Risk Based
Inspection (RBI)

Experience in subsea system design and operation and subsea automation and
controls.
