CPS in Tuam. I started work at 9.15 in the morning and finished at 3.00 in the afternoon. When I arrived I was brought upstairs to the computer design room where I was introduced to the workers up there. I got to sit with one of them at their desk for the day to see what their working day consisted of. His name was Francis Moggan. He explained to me what they do as design engineers at CPS. They work on Solid Works like we did in DCG. I found it really interesting to see this being used in the workplace. He told me about the subjects he did for Leaving Cert and about how he spent five years in college training to be a design engineer. He also showed me the projects he was working on at the moment. One of them involved solving a problem to do with a machine that cleans stints in Medtronic. I learned that there is more to CPS then just making things. I learned that Solids Works is very important as it is used by design engineers and I also learned that this is a problem solving job.
