The Dreamboy

The Sun was falling downwards to the mountain. It was getting cool and

blowy. Inside a dark square, dim light shined out from the lantern beside a bed. A

boy was lying on the mattress and squeak loudened suddenly. His aunt, Belinda,

came into the room and softly sat by him. She gently put her hand on his curly head

and fondled back and forth. Its time to sleep, Troye, Belinda told, let it slip your

mind, honey. She left him alone.

Moment of when his parents were lost in the car accident for years ago came

up in his mind. A jagged scrap of broken windshield cut his eyes. His vision didnt

work anymore.

A rooster in the barn crowed aloud when his uncle, Matham, was preparing a

hoe. Troye followed his nose to the dining room and walked on braille blocks.

Sit and have your breakfast, Belinda hastily told, today, I prepared pot roast

and cornbread is in a tray near the sink.

Troye drawled, those are my fave food, thank you. Suddenly he asked, Are

you going outside?

Im going to do an errand in town and Ill buy stuffs for our dinner, she told

and rushed off.

While a little boy was having meal, he thought of when his mother cooked pot

roast for him during Christmas time. Tears were dropping from his closed eyes upon

the warm cornbread. He slowly went up to his room and turned up a radio. Cold air

was blowing through a square window. Broadcaster finally stated, The author of The

Story of My Life, Helen Keller, said the only thing worse than being blind is having

sight but no vision. The warm sunshine beamed on his body. Troye stood up and

got out of cowardice promptly.

Troye! come here, Matham loudly shouted from downstairs. For a moment,

he replied, Here I come. His uncle gave a basket of fruit and he picked an apple.

Matham was watching television, then he tried to interrupt and asked, I want

to be a singer.

No! I will never let you do. his uncle abruptly retorted, its not that good.

The apple fell from his hand. Troye dismally walked to his room at the time. No tear

ran down from his eyes. The sky was getting dark. He was sitting at the corner.

His aunt just arrived. For a while, Belinda put dishes on the table and called

for the others. Troye was going to downstairs. Sound of conversation loundened from

the dining room. He concealed behind the wall and listened.

Troye asked me to be a singer but...you know, I dont want him to do like

that Matham grumbled.

Belinda replied, I know that... In sudden, Troye hindered and bawled,

There are many blind singer who succeed in this job, dont you know? Every sight

stared at him and everything became earnest.

Stupid! you dont even know how hard their lives were Batham obstinately

shouted, dont make your life worse. Bathams face turned red.

I heard what you just said and I will show you how far Ill go, Troye replied.

Then, Belinda grabbed his hand and brought him to the room. She murmured,

Alright, no more quarrel.

Her rough hands pressed his shoulders. She told, dont take it to heart, he is

just an old man and he wants you have a better life.

It makes none sense, Troye expressed, he talked like hed ever done before.

Belinda said, he really know because his close friend is a singer and hes seen

difficulties all along. Troye deeply sighed and looked hopeless. She consoled him
kindly and said, Well, I have someone I want you to know, I will take you

tomorrow. Troye nodded undecidedly.

On the sunny day, they went along Bradley street until they reached an old

rural house. Instantly, a man shouted from scrullery, come in, make yourself at

home. Troye touched things around a living room and wondered, Belinda, where is

this? why are there many discs and instruments.

This is Bradleys house, he is my friend, Belinda replied.

How can I help you? Bradley pleasantly asked.

Make him feel like a real singer, she whispered while Troye was still

confused .

Bradley winked at her and brought Troye to an untidy room. Troye was

anxious and questioned, stop! where are you taking me? He was pushed into the

room. Then, Bradley told, Express your feeling out, let me hear your voice. He

touched a microphone over his head. Smile on his face showed how much he was

happy. Troye started covering a song which called How far Ill go of Alessia Cara.

The song expressed his attempt. Bradley was surprised with Troyes melodious voice

and began shutting his eyes and opened his audition. Pictures of content came up in

Bradleys mind.

A black video-camera was recording. Belinda wiped tears on her cheek and

mumbled, go for it, honey. Moment of when Troye sang a song as if his father did.

Afterwards, Troye walked out of the room and excitedly asked his aunt, how was it?

She praised, it made me feel the meaning of the song.

Troye talked to Bradley, thank you so much. finally, I have a chance to set

free, thats really wonderful. Bradley replied, I want others know your ability, so I

will release on social media. Troye consented and shook his head continuously.
Bradley began editing while Belinda recounted about being singer of Troyes

father. When his father was young, he had sneaked away to record his own song. The

song was written to Troyes mother. Troye was astonished. Teardrop slightly came

out of his eyes.

Thanks a lot, were going back home right now, Belinda said, good bye.

Youre welcome, Bradley told, dont forget to watch it online.

Troye turned to Bradley and smiled. He said, Thank you.

They went along the street back to home. The sky was getting gloomy. They

arrived while Matham was waiting for them. His sight gazed upon Troye and said

nothing. Troye rushed to sleep. His face looked weary.

On the clear sky morning, sound of a telephone loudly rang. Belinda

answered. Its Bradley. He told, your video has been viewed by more than thousand

people right now. Belinda wore a broad smile. Moreover, there is an entertainment

company calls for Troye, Bradley said.

Sound of happy screaming woke up Troye from dreaming. Troye walked down

and asked, what happens to you? It does not happen to me but it happens to you,

Belinda joyfully said, its time to assure of being a singer.

Troye unconsciously smiled while he didnt even know what was happening to

him. He was immediately told that to take a shower and dress well. Belinda took him

to the company in the city. He followed the company step by step and decided to sign

a contract. Troye became another blind singer.

For years past, Matham saw his nephew on television and he was shocked.

Troye came back home to visit his family. He said to Matham, See, I can do it. He

gave Matham an his album and smiled. Matham lost his mind and said, break a leg,

my lovely boy, Troye.
