Introduction Application
The fan is not the only source of airborne sound power The Crosstalk attenuators are commonly used to avoid

common duct system the possibility arises of sound from These units are designed and built for optimum noise
one room passing into the ductwork and out into the control in a situation where the noise in the first room is
adjoining room. This sound source can take many forms, clearly heard in the second room.
for example, a raised voice in one room may be transmitted
via ducting to the adjacent room, or machinery noise in that
3 room could be similarly transferred. A suitable method of
50 providing attenuation within the duct between the adjacent
room is therefore necessary.
SCTL Description
The crosstalk attenuators are prefabricated sections of
ductwork with acoustic lining.
It is designed to avoid noise radiated from a room or from
a duct termination which is connected via a main duct, to
a branch duct leading to another room. Airflow is permitted
whilst noise transfer is limited.
