Implementation of 5S at ACKE Production

1. Summary
Ambassador Commercial Kitchen Equipments is the leading manufacturing
industry in Pakistan. We provide not only the commercial kitchen equipments
but we are also the provider of Imported kitchen related products, their
installation and after sale services.

With the day by day increasing customer demand, we are going to improve our
production facility by using 5S methodology; so that we can reach our
customer demand: in time, with zero defects and improved quality.

In this proposal we have briefly listed all the project plan and information from
start to end e.g. team, budget, time, 5S methodology etc.

2. Introduction
Ambassador is a leading commercial kitchen equipments manufacturing
industry in Pakistan due to its reliable, durable, long-lasting and hard-wearing
products.

It was founded in 1965 and took a start up with manufacturing of washing


machines and some non-commercial kitchen equipments.

We also provide designing and installation services of commercial and non-


commercial kitchens besides kitchen equipments and provide after sale
services of local or imported products.

Vision Statement

To become a world class manufacturer of kitchen equipments to fulfill the


needs of local and international clients.

Maintaining a global viewpoint, we are dedicated to supplying products of the

3. Needs/Problems
Although Ambassador is a Pakistan's leading commercial kitchen equipments
manufacturing firm but today, it is increasingly recognized that 5S
management techniques enhance productivity and competitiveness. In order to
become a World Class Gemba, an organization has to go through a continuous
and systematic process which can only be achieved by lean manufacturing and
its first step or base is 5S methodology.

According to Japanese author and consultant, Hiroyuki Hirano, unless you first
apply the 5S
method you cannot achieve sustainable operational improvement.

5. Implementation Plan
5S will be conducted in major four phases which are described below:

Phase-I (Plan-Guidelines for 5S preparation)

Project progress will be recorded step by step and will evaluate by 5S audit
committee.

A checklist will be provided to audit team which contains rating criteria in


form of numbers from 1 to 5 for evaluation of each 5S step; in this way the
audit of 5S will be conducted.
