HOW TO BE A TESDA ACCREDITED ASSESSOR?


TRAINERS METHODOLOGY LEVEL I consists of competencies a TVET trainer and assessor
must achieve. A TVET trainer is a person who enables a learner or a group of learners to
develop competencies to perform a particular trade or technical work. A TVET Trainer
and Assessor must possess a National TVET Trainers Certificate (NTTC) in order to
perform the functions of a TESDA Certified trainer/ assessor. An NTTC can only be given
once a particular person has already passed the Trainers Methodology assessment
which will entitle him a Certificate of Competency in Delivering Training Session (COC1),
Certificate of Competency in Conducting Competency Assessment (COC2), and a
Trainers Methodology Certificate (TMC).
A person who has achieved this Qualification is competent to be:

1. TVET Trainer/Technical Trainer


2. Training Facilitator/Coordinator
3. Competency Assessor
Furthermore, with the implementation of the K-12 Program, teachers who wish to apply
for a teaching slot in senior high school shall be asked to submit additional
requirements based on the Guidelines that will be made available soon.

For full-time and part-time TVL teacher-applicants, the following are the additional
requirements:
1. Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) National
Certificate (NC) of at least one level higher than course to be taught in subject to
be taught (e.g. at least NC-III in SMAW to teach SMAW-NC-II)
2. Certified photocopy of Trainers Methodology Certificate (TMC)

TRAINERS METHODOLOGY LEVEL I (TRAINER/ ASSESSOR) 264 Hours
Course Description
This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills, positive attitude and work
values of the learner in accordance with the prevailing standards in the Technical
-Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector. This encompasses competencies
required of a Technical-Vocational Trainer to perform the tasks in the areas of
instructional delivery / facilitation, competency assessment, and maintenance of
training resources / facilities.
Entry Requirements
Candidate/trainee must reach/poses any of the following qualification:
Graduate of courses relevant to Technical -Vocational Education and Training
Ability to communicate
Physically fit and mentally healthy
Can perform basic mathematical computation and mensuration
