GRADING
The grading system for this class has been designed to emphasize your understanding of the course
material. Homework will be worth 15% of your grade and is scored based on completeness and neatness
Participation in in-class individual and group activities will make up 5% of your grade. Tests and quizzes will
make up 60% of your grade. The comprehensive final exam will make up the remaining 20%. Grades will
follow the traditional scale of 90-100% A, 80-89% B, 70-79% C, 60-69% D, < 60% F. For every piece of work
you turn in, you must SHOW ALL WORK unless otherwise specified. Your calculators are powerful, but your
brains are much more so. This requirement is meant to help the teacher identify your thought process and
understanding of the material, but will also help to prepare you for college courses. You should take time to
ensure the work that you turn in is legible and presented in a organized format. Grades will be updated
weekly and can be accessed through Synergy, TUSD's new student management system.
