Evolution has been happening since technology was introduced across the
world. Centuries molded the realm we can see now into a modernized living
environment. Change amazingly appeared from the tall buildings and structures we
appreciate, the gadgets we use, the appliances we buy, the transportation vehicles that
take us to places, and even in our educational systems.
As a student of one of the leading technological schools in the Philippines which
continuously adapts to educations development, MAPUA, I can say that I am one of
those living proofs that is very grateful to experience such advantage. As our college
provides us the best education we can receive, they also want us to be globally
competitive worldwide. Because of this, blackboard was introduced on the curriculum
which is a learning system for course management in institutions.
Through the use of Blackboard in one of its special features, Bb Collaborate, we
had an online class that was truly successful. Even though there were some audio
technicalities in our Economics class at first, our teacher was able to relay the lesson.
She thoroughly explained what economics is all about and the principles of how people
make decisions which includes People face tradeoffs, The cost of something is what
you give up to get it, Rational people think at the margin, and People respond to
incentives. She also shared that Trade can make everyone better off, Markets are
usually a good way to organize economic activity, Governments can sometimes
improve market outcomes, which on the other hand what the principles of how people
interact consist. Moreover, Maam Andrada also taught the principles of how the
economy as a whole works which are the A countrys standard of living depends on its
ability to produce goods and services, Prices rise when the government prints too
much money, and Society faces a short-run tradeoff between inflation and
employment.
One advantage of having a Bb Collaboration is that we participated in an online
discussion and were empowered with knowledge even both the professor and learner
are separated by distance. I find it convenient and reliable as an online collaborative
learning solution that delivers a different level of engagement that made me feel like we
are together in the same room via collaboration. For these reasons, the blackboard
system as a whole is a new way of delivering new opportunities to meet learners like me
to where I am.
