INTRODUCTION
1.1 General
This design note pertains to the design of foundation, columns, beams and floor slabs of
RUWI ROWER FOR M/s Zubair
The frame analysis has been done by computer software STAAD pro 2005.
Design calculation has been carried out in line with the design criteria attached herewith

2.0

Foundations
The foundation of the buildings are assumed safe bearing capacity of 250 KN/m2 at 3 m
below the finished ground level or as per the soil investigation reports
The soil report indicates that chloride contents are less than the permissible limits and
therefore, be applied to concrete surface in contact with soil and 3 coats of bituminous
paint is recommended for all block work in contact with soil.

SELF WEIGHT OF SLAB (275mm)

4.2

Wall Loads

= 6.6 kn/m2

a) Internal walls load (190 mm hollow)

i) 190 hollow wall 3.1m height

= 0.19 x3.1x 14.60

= 8.6 kn/m
ii) 20mm plaster inside/out side
= (0.02x3.1x22 ) x 2
= 2.73 kn/m
Total = 8.6+2.73 kn/m = 11.3 kn/m
Considering opening 10%
Wall load (200mm thick) =0.9x11.3 = 10.1 kn/m

b) External walls 350 mm thick

i) 190 thick hollow wall 3.1m height = 0.19 x3.1x 14.60
=8.6 kn/m
ii) 100 thick solid wall 3.5m height = 0.1 x3.1x 22.0
=6.82 kn/m
iii) 20mm plaster inside/out side

= (0.02x3.1x22) x 2
= 2.73 kn/m

Total = 8.6+6.8+2.73 = 18.15 KN/m

Considering 15% opening the load /m=18.15x0.85
=15.43 t/m
Wall load (350mm thick) = 16 kn/m

c) Internal partition wall load (100 mm thick) = 5.0 kn/m

NOTE- Wall load on floors =6.4 kn/m2
