In a statement, Chief Matthew Clancy reported that at least
one resident has fallen victim to the scam, which involves a Betty DeLisle Classes in Duxbury – 781-934-9959

calling on behalf of a relative who has been arrested and needs

a Western Union office where the suspect claims it. Variations
on this scam have included claims of medical emergencies.
The suspects frequently target senior citizens and claim they
are calling on behalf of nieces, nephews or grandchildren.
Residents are advised to be suspicious of anyone who requests
that money be “wired” to them, Clancy said. Residents are
also reminded not to give out personal information to unsolic-
