Adrian Frutiger
and Avenir

Adrian Frutiger was born on

May 24, 1928, in Unterseen and
died on September 10, 2015,
in Bermgarten bei Bern. His
career lasted more than fifty
years and he is considered to be
one of the most successful and
influential designers of twentieth
century. He mainly worked in
Paris where he created some
of his most famous typefaces
Univers, Frutiger and Avenir. He
won numerous awards like The
Gutenberg Prize, Typography
Award from The Society of
Typographic Aficionados
and European Design Hall of
Fame. Even after his death, his
typefaces are still widely use by
reputable companies.
