Lasallian Spirituality

Faith

Faith provides vision, vision which links all reality to the

spiritual. Faith helped La Salle to reframe obnoxious street
children as children of God, objects of His personal love
and concern. He kept encouraging the Brothers to have
a strong spirit of faith, to see their work as Gods work.

Service

Service expresses our faith vision in service to others,

especially those in greatest need. For La Salle it was
a passionate commitment to promote brotherhood
within the classroom and outside. The Brother stood
among his pupils as brother, not above them as a master.

Community

La Salle promoted close bonding among his teachers for

their mutual support as well as for greater effectiveness,
working together and by association. The Brothers took
a vow to live in association. A strong commitment to
community is still at the heart of our Lasallian Heritage.
