The following errata are from Volume III of Tim Topolewskis

Errata Studies for the Wind Band Conductor, published in 2003. Some
of the noted contradictions among the parts and score are left simply
as observations by the author, allowing the conductor to make his or
her own choice as to what is correct. For these observations, I have
supplied a more definitive analysis, indicated in the observation boxes
with italics. Many of the remaining errata found by Mr. Topolewski are
clear and correct; also, however, several corrections are suggested
that are incorrect or unclear in some way or another. These are marked
with asterisks preceding the instruction ( ** ), with the appropriate
correction supplied beneath, indicated by italics.

the score, (with the same rhythm), as the

as preceding inaccurate p indication was
removed.
Correct the articulation of beat two to read
two accented eighth notes under a slur
**Observation: all horn parts indicate
stopped horn on beat two. The score does
not show this.
-This is actually at measure 15. The marking
here in the parts is simply stopped, and
carries until the open that occurs one
measure before rehearsal [4]. In the original
score, appropriate stopped symbols are
provided for measures 15-18, and are taken
away when open playing resumes in the
measure before [4].

two accented eighth notes under a slur.
Correct horn III to middle C

-All parts should bear the articulation of the

flute line printed in the original slur; thus,
the slur in the trumpet parts beat the F#
and F natural should be removed, also
supplying an accent to the beat 3 F natural.
Observation: The part shows a # on the
second eighth note (C#). The score does not
show the sharp.
-Supply the missing # to the & of beat 2
C.
Score: add a quarter and a half rest
Observation: the part indicates senza
sord. The score does not show this.

Correct the sixteenth notes to eighth notes

on beat 2
Add tempo indication Quarter = 134
**Correct the rest to read |--1--|
-Though this addresses the fact that there is
one extra measure in the snare part
between rehearsals [6] and [7], the root of
the error is that the the piccolo entrance one
measure late. To correct this, the second
measure of [6] should be eliminated.
Correct the rhythm to straight sixteenths
**Correct these measures to read a staccato
eighth note downbeat followed by 7 beats
of rest.

-To clarify, measure 66 should have only a

staccato eighth note on the downbeat, with
rest for the remainder of the measure. After
this, there should be only 3 measures of
rest, not the 4 indicated in the part. I
recommend removing the measure
immediately preceding rehearsal [7].
**Add an eighth rest before the final eighth
note
VI.

109
-Eight rest should be added after the final
eight note.
**Correct the last quarter note A to a quarter
rest
