Abstract.Thismetapaperdescribesthestyletobeusedinarticlesandshort
papersforSBCconferences. ForpapersinEnglish,youshouldaddjustan
abstractwhileforthepapersinPortuguese,wealsoaskforanabstractin
Portuguese(resumo). Inbothcases,abstractsshouldnothavemorethan
10linesandmustbeinthefirstpageofthepaper.
Resumo. Este metaartigo descreve o estilo a ser usado na confeco de
artigos e resumos de artigos para publicao nos anais das conferncias
organizadaspelaSBC.solicitadaaescritaderesumoeabstractapenas
paraosartigosescritosemportugus.Artigoseminglsdeveroapresentar
apenas abstract. Nos dois casos, o autor deve tomar cuidado para que o
resumo (e o abstract) no ultrapassem 10 linhas cada, sendo que ambos
devemestarnaprimeirapginadoartigo.

1.GeneralInformation
Allfullpapersandposters(shortpapers)submittedtosomeSBCconference,including
anysupportingdocuments,shouldbewritteninEnglishorinPortuguese.Theformat
papershouldbeA4withsinglecolumn,3.5cmforuppermargin,2.5cmforbottom
marginand3.0cmforlateralmargins,withoutheadersorfooters.Themainfontmust
beTimes,12pointnominalsize,with6pointsofspacebeforeeachparagraph.Page
numbersmustbesuppressed.
Fullpapersmustrespectthepagelimitsdefinedbytheconference.Conferences
thatpublishjustabstractsaskforonepagetexts.

2.FirstPage
Thefirstpagemustdisplaythepapertitle,thenameandaddressoftheauthors,the
abstractinEnglishandresumoinPortuguese(resumosarerequiredonlyforpapers
writteninPortuguese).Thetitlemustbecenteredoverthewholepage,in16point
boldfacefontandwith12pointsofspacebeforeitself.Authornamesmustbecentered
in12pointfont,bold,allofthemdisposedinthesameline,separatedbycommasand

with12pointsofspaceafterthetitle.Addressesmustbecenteredin12pointfont,also
with12pointsofspaceaftertheauthorsnames.Emailaddressesshouldbewritten
usingfontCourierNew,10pointnominalsize,with6pointsofspacebeforeand6
pointsofspaceafter.
The abstract and resumo (if is the case) must be in 12 point Times font,
indented0.8cmonbothsides.Theword Abstract and Resumo,shouldbewrittenin
boldfaceandmustprecedethetext.

3.CDROMsandPrintedProceedings
Insomeconferences,thepapersarepublishedonCDROMwhileonlytheabstractis
publishedintheprintedProceedings.Inthiscase,authorsareinvitedtopreparetwo
finalversionsofthepaper.One,complete,tobepublishedontheCDandtheother,
containingonlythefirstpage,withabstractandresumo(forpapersinPortuguese).

4.SectionsandParagraphs
Sectiontitlesmustbeinboldface,13pt,flushleft.Thereshouldbeanextra12ptof
space before each title. Section numbering is optional. The first paragraph of each
sectionshouldnotbeindented,whilethefirstlinesofsubsequentparagraphsshouldbe
indentedby1.27cm.
4.1.Subsections
Thesubsectiontitlesmustbeinboldface,12pt,flushleft.

5.FiguresandCaptions
Figureandtablecaptionsshouldbecenterediflessthanoneline(Figure1),otherwise
justifiedandindentedby0.8cmonbothmargins,asshowninFigure2.Thecaptionfont
mustbeHelvetica,10point,boldface,with6pointsofspacebeforeandaftereach
caption.

line and justified considering margins mentioned in Section 5.

Intables,trytoavoidtheuseofcoloredorshadedbackgrounds,andavoidthick,
doubled,orunnecessaryframinglines.Whenreportingempiricaldata,donotusemore
decimaldigitsthanwarrantedbytheirprecisionandreproducibility.Tablecaptionmust
beplacedbeforethetable(seeTable1)andthefontusedmustalsobeHelvetica,10
point,boldface,with6pointsofspacebeforeandaftereachcaption.

6.Images
Allimagesandillustrationsshouldbeinblackandwhite,orgraytones,exceptingfor
thepapersthatwillbeelectronicallyavailable(onCDROMs,internet,etc.).Theimage
resolutiononpapershouldbeabout600dpiforblackandwhiteimages,and150300
dpiforgrayscaleimages.Donotincludeimageswithexcessiveresolution,astheymay
takehourstoprint,withoutanyvisibledifferenceintheresult.

7.References
Bibliographicreferencesmustbeunambiguousanduniform. Werecommendgiving
theauthornamesreferencesinbrackets,e.g.[Knuth1984],[BoulicandRenault1991];
ordatesinparentheses,e.g.Knuth(1984),SmithandJones(1999).
Thereferencesmustbelistedusing12pointfontsize,with6pointsofspace
beforeeachreference.Thefirstlineofeachreferenceshouldnotbeindented,whilethe
subsequentshouldbeindentedby0.5cm.
