Evidence of improvement on energy intensity and management system as a result of

implementation of Sustainable Energy Management System in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia

(UTM)

UTM Sustainable Energy Management Program (SEMP) was initiated in February 2011, upon
completion of our in-house Energy Manager Training workshop conducted by Greentech Corporation
of Malaysia. A total of 30 energy managers from various faculties, colleges and offices were trained
and certified under AEMAS. The training program established 6 project teams cum task force to
sustainably formulate and manage energy policy, in-house technical and systems energy audit, work
procedures and energy-saving campaigns. It is forecasted that UTM will improved its efficiency by
11% in year 2011 as compared to 2010 as a result of the more organized and structured SEM programs
established (see the Table below).

The attached energy management MATRIX is another testimony of the all-round improvements
made to the UTM energy management system before and after SEM implementation.
