Through Jesus
-

We are called to be in unity, of the same mind of Christ to our fellow brothers
and sisters in Christ
Just as Jesus Himself stood fast through all temptations, so can we, by the
power of the Holy Spirit
Because he is the Prince of Peace, only Jesus Himself, can supply us with all
that we need, especially peace in the midst of biblical anxiety (selfcentredness, and omittance of the gospel)
We are led by His Spirit, to teach us more about Christ, and exhibiting the
virtues of our words and our actions

We can find true contentment in Christ whether we are poor or rich, nothing
matters but Christ Himself.

Week 8: Philippians 3
Summary
Paul uses the picture of a race to depict the life of a Christian, forgetting what lies behind, and
straining forward for the prize of eternal life with Christ Himself
Paul tells the Philippians to follow his example of living Christ-like, and to put into practice the truth
already learned
Paul reminds the Philippians of those enemies of the cross of Christ- who live for themselves and is
doomed for eternal damnation
Paul then contrasts these worldly people with believers who have become citizens of heaven,
and will one day have transformed, resurrected bodies when Christ returns.
Through Jesus
Live my life eternally as I strain forward towards the goal of seeing christ one day
We can follow the example of those who live their lives in a Christ like way and apply
the truth of the gospel in our own lives
We can focus on Christ, as citizens of heaven and await our Saviour who will one day
return, and bring us home with Him, transforming our bodies to be like His.
