METHODOLOGY
Research Design
In this review the illustrative study technique was utilized to examine ICT
use propensities, saw ICT competency, and related issues of college
understudies in instructor readiness programs. An engaging study strategy
permits the specialist to suggest a progression of conversation starters to willing
members, outline their reactions with rates, recurrence numbers, or more through
measurements, and draw inductions about a specific populace from the reactions
of the specimen.

Research Instrument
The only instrument for the study was a survey questionnaire: Students
ICT Usage and Perceived Competencies Inventory (S-ICT AIMS) adapted from
Bassey et al. (2007). The S-ICT-AIMS questionnaire was structured into three
sections. Section A elicited demographic details such as, course, age. Section B
examined ICT usage habits of respondents. Section C required the respondents
to rate their perceived ICT competencies. It was a 5-point Likert items on ICT
knowledge and skills adapted from the Western Australian Guide (2003). The
reliability of the instrument was calculated using the Cronbach alpha formula.
Reliability coefficients were calculated separately for section B and each of the
five subscales in section C. The reliability coefficient of section B was 0.72. The
reliability coefficients in each of the five sub-scales were; 0.74 for File Navigator,
i

0.73 for Word Processing, 0.72 for Email, 0.72 for Internet, and 0.65 for
Presentation

Software.

Descriptive

(frequencies,

Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 16.0.

Population, Samples and Sampling Technique

In this research the respondent are obtain in 2 nd year maritime student of
AIMS. The researchers used a convenient sampling as a method in gathering the
data. This study is design to obtain data for the students and used a survey type
method to determine and list down the ICT skills and competencies of the
student of AIMS.

Data Gathering Procedure

In this review the spellbinding overview strategy was utilized to research
ICT use propensities, saw ICT competency, and related issues of college
understudies in instructor planning programs. An unmistakable overview strategy
permits the analyst to suggest a progression of conversation starters to willing
members, condense their reactions with rates, recurrence checks, or more
thorough measurements, and draw surmisings about a specific populace from
the reactions of the sample. The information for this examination were gathered
utilizing a review survey. The overview was made utilizing appropriate inquiries
altered from related research and individual inquiries framed by the specialist.
1

The study was included 20 questions, which were identified with the member's
discernment in regards to metro sexuality. In the survey, Likert scale was utilized
to figure out whether the respondent concurred or differ in an announcement.
After the teacher approved the poll, these were dispersed to the 2 nd year
maritime students of AIMS. The analysts guaranteed classification of their study
sheets since the personalities are not imperative. The analysts likewise
comprehended that individuals' awareness may likewise influence their
genuineness and viability in noting the review, thus the specialists gave
individuals the alternative of being mysterious. Members were offered time to
react and after that the scientists gathered the reviews the following day. There
were no motivating forces offered for taking an interest in the examination. Next,
the specialists arranged the inquiries that they would ask for the meeting. The
researcher met a certain number of male understudies in the populace in regards
to metro sexuality.
Inspecting Technique
The gathering utilized Stratified Random Sampling. In this inspecting
strategy, the gathering got arbitrary specimens in a populace which was made
out of a few second-year maritime student of AIMS. From each of these
segments, the example size was drawn proportionately, 20 understudies in every
segment, paying little respect to their sexual orientation.
Measurable Treatment of Data

In getting the specimen estimate, the gathering utilized the Sloven's recipe
which is, n= , N remains for the entire populace of the second year preliminary
dentistry understudies who were enlisted in second semester of school year
2016-2017, while e, remains for the wiggle room, the analysts utilized 0.01 as the
safety buffer. The information gathered were organized and examined.
Examinations of information were guided by mean and rate.
Sloven's Formula
n=
where:
N = add up to populace
e = room for give and take
Arrangement:
N = 400 second year preliminary dentistry understudies
e = 0.10%
n=
n=80

Statistical Treatment
