GermanycouldnotrejectthetermsoftheTreaty;theywereforcedtoacceptit.The
treatywasadiktattoGermany.TheoutcomeofthiswasthatGermanylost10%ofits
land,allofitsoverseascolonies.12.5%ofitspopulation.16.5%ofitsCoalfieldsandhalf
ofitsironandsteelindustry.
ThereactionsofGermanywereoutofcontrol.TheGermanPublicfeltasiftheyhavenot
evenlostawar,astherewasalotofconfusiongoing.TheybelievedthatGermany
shouldnothavebeenconsideredadefeatedcountry,becauseGermanyonlyagreedto
Ceasefire.Thetermsofthetreatyangeredthepublicevenmore,especiallywhenthe
governmentandthePublichadnosayoranyvoicetowardsthetreaty.Germanycould
notkeeponfightingastheyweredestinedtolose,andthisleftthemnochoicebut
signingtotheTermsoftheTreaty.
Warguiltandreparations;MadeGermanylookliketheenemyoftheworldandisifthey
didntbelonganywhereandwerenotaccepted.ThereparationscrippledtheGerman

economy,andfoodandworkbecamescarce.TheprideanddignityofGermanywaslost
asitlostitsempireandpowerwithoutavoicetocounteractit.
