ENVIROMENT PROTECTION

Basalt environmentally conscious natural material is used for basalt fibers production. The technology of
production process is not hazardous for environment; it does not produce any emission or waste. The main
mission of energy-saving technologies is to decrease of energy consumers by 20~ 50%, which has a beneficial
impact on environment as well. The characteristics of basalt fiber materials made them applicable in many
spheres; for example, they can be used as filtering material in filters of industrial and city drain systems, for
smoke gases filters and emissions filters in industrial enterprises. Basalt fiber is the main material used for
filtration of emissions and drains, and at the moment it does not have any real alternative.
BASALT: A GIFT OF NATURE
Basalt is the generic term for solidified volcanic lava. 1/3 of the Earth's crust consists of basalts,
eruptive inert rock is found worldwide. Basalts has being laying for many millions years on the
surface of the Earth. Basalt breeds are one of the strongest natural silicate breeds. Primary
fusion, enrichment and homogenization of basalt breeds were made by nature; it is ready to use
as a raw material for fibre production. It is well known that not everyone type of basalt is suitable
for production of basalt fibers, and the more for continuous fiber production. The company has
specialized laboratory, BFCMTDs specialists developed and use a special technique to select the
basaltic rocks, suitable for fibres production. They have special knowledge and possess a big
practical experience in selection of basalt breeds from which basalt continuous and staple fibres
are made. Fibres from basalt breeds possess high natural initial durability and are stable against
corrosions environment, have good electric insulating properties and produced from natural
ecological cleaner raw material. Therefore, basalt fibers have bright prospect of application in
various industries.
TYPES OF BASALT FIBERS
Basalt Continuous Fibers (BCF): diameter 6~ 21 microns, length 20~60 km;

ADVANTAGED OF BCF TECHNOLOGIES


1. Only one component basalt, which is an environmentally safe natural material is used for BCF production;
2. Cost of basalt raw material is very low; the share of raw materials cost in the final cost of production is less
than 5%;
3. BCF production technology consists of only one phase melting. There is no need for primary enrichment,
fusion and homogenization, as all of those were made for free by nature;
4. To make CBF basalt should be heated up only one time;
5. Further processing of CBF into materials does not require energy; its made with application of cold
technologies".
BFCMTDS EQUIPMENT FOR CF PRODUCTION
BFCMTD mastered production of TE BCF 2000-2500 technological line, which is developed on the basis of new
series BCF installations with reduced energy consumption.
BCF-1 is a modular gas -and- electric installation of one unit (bushing); its main application is selection of basalt
raw material, working though the operating modes, training of staff, and production of BCF.
BCF-2 installation is a modular industrial installation, it is a part of the TE BCF 2000-2500 line and used for
BCF industrial production.

Development of the Feasibility study and detailed Business Plan for organization BCF and BCF-based
materials production. Search and study of basalt rocks from local basalt deposits, selection the best basalt
raw material which is suitable for BCF manufacturing. Project design of plant for production of BCF and BCF
- based materials ;
Manufacture and supply of process equipment, installation and commissioning of the first stage of the plant

Unlike metal, BCF is not affected by corrosion. Unlike fiber glass, BCF is not affected by alkalis. BCF possess
high corrosion and chemical durability qualities towards corrosive mediums, such as salts & acids solutions and,
especially, alkalis.

RL 2B process line has two-level control system of manufacturing process .


Manufacturing and application of basalt plastic rebar and share have development prospect. BCF is not affected by corrosion.
The ranges of use of Basalt plastic rebar are the following: reinforcing of concrete structures, bearing structures, ceiling,
foundations, concrete roads, runway of airdromes, and other structures with requirements for CORROSION RESISTANCE of
reinforcement materials. The strength and useful life of basalt-plastic rebar exceed that of conventional reinforcement
materials. The strength of basalt-plastic rebar is 2-2, 5 times more than that of steel reinforcement materials of the same
diameter. Metallic reinforcement is the most critical part of any reinforced concrete structure. Reinforcement materials are
subject to corrosion under the effect of moisture and alkali medium present in concrete. A result of using of basalt plastic
rebar is the following: strengthening of concrete, lack of corrosion destroying of rebar under the influence of moisture, salt &
sea water. No needed to provide required protective works at the building foundations and bearings construction. Basalt
plastic rebar (BPR) is non electroconductive, have substantial advantages over conventional metallic rebar; the price of Basalt
plastic rebar is cheaper than price of steel reinforcement with the same strength property. Conventional reinforcement from
steel can be replaced by the basalt-plastic rebar, due to their technical and economic characteristics. For this reason, basaltplastic rebar are increasingly used in the production of reinforced concrete structures in the last years.

Producing of bandage tapes (bands). It is used for strengthening of buildings, improvement of its antiseismic strength
properties, forcing of building wall and fastening of front end thermo insulation. Package (sealing) cords use for stabilization of
the doors, refining of hermetic contact, exclusion of the fire penetration.

Process equipment for production of basalt-plastic pipes has two variants, the first is equipment for discrete coiling of the

STBF are layer staple fibers with diameter of 1~3 microns, mixed and fastened among themselves, the regular form of this
product is felt (felt of basalt wool).

Advantages of STBF:

1. its made only from basalts, not any other materials;

STBF PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGIES


Traditional technology for STBF production consists of the following steps:
Loading of basalt crushed breed in furnace;
Melting and homogenization of basalt in furnace;
Production of melting basalt from the feeder of furnace through bushing in the form of continuous primary fibers;
Blowing primary fibers in super thin fibers by attenuating blast gas burner;
Formation of STBF felt on the conveyor.
STBF production technology with drawing of primary fibers and blowing them with high-temperature gas stream is well
established in industrial production. The main highlight of the new generation BSTF-20 machine is application of new
technologies and new technical decisions.

TECHNOLOGICAL EQUIPMENT FOR STBF PRODUCTION
BFCMTD offers installation of equipment for STBF production.
B-20 installation is used for production of STBF felts with diameter of elementary fibers up to 3 microns.
B-20 series have good operating qualities. The installation went through modernization after it was used
during more than five years.
BSTF-20 & BSTF-40 installations are the equipment of a new generation; they are used for production of felts
with diameter of fibers up to 3 microns. These new installations apply the newest energy-saving technologies.
The BSTF-40 installation has high capacity & low electric energy demand features.
In comparison with traditional equipment, BSTF-20 & BSTF-40 posses the following outstanding features:
- Consumption of gas and the electricity is twice as low;
- Use of labor for a unit of production is 1.5~2 times as low;
- Capacity & stability of operation is higher;
- High quality of STBF product, including a low level of no fibrous inclusions, is secured.
BCTB 20, BSTF 20, BSTF 40 installations are equipped with control systems of technological

ORGANISATION OF STBF PRODUCTION

Installation of STBF production equipment is done step-by-step: installation and launch of the first union, then the next, with
an interval of 2~3 months. Client should prepare industrial premises and communications, including gas, electric power,
compressed air, water, ventilation & smoke removal system (air lines, chimney). At the same time with launch of STBF
equipment are accomplish starting of process equipment for manufacture of punched mats and sewing felts.

It is economically expedient to establish workshop for STBF production with complete cycle of STBF manufacture,
beginning with producing primary felt from super-thin fibers, and finishing by various STBF-based products, such as STBF
foiled felt, STBF mat, STBF gasket heat insulated cord, STBF cardboard, and etc. Economical calculations show that quantity
of 20 (or BSTF 20) installations must be no less than five pcs, BSTF 40 installations no less than three.

Basalt scales (BSc)

Basalt scales (BSc) is a thin lamellar material with thickness 2~6 micron and area of a surface around 0.5~5 mm.
Basalt scales owes its name to the scale of fish, because they have similar protective qualities. BSc is a unique
material for production of protective, wear proof, anticorrosive & chemically proof coverings, reinforced composite
materials, reinforced plastics, filling agent of frictional materials (such as brake blocks & clutch plates). Wear
resistance & chemical stability of lacquer coatings reinforced by BSc increases several times. Durability of
reinforced by BSc plastics increases 2~3 times. Coverings with BSc are applied by spraying, it adds efficiency to
equipment.

Basalt scale used for reinforcing of lacquer coating. Reinforcing of lacquer coatings by basalt scale improves
corrosion-resistant, wear-resistance, impact-resistant properties of coating. Reinforced by basalt scale lacquer
coatings have application in various industries.
Motor-car construction - anticorrosive, wear resistant and impact resistant coverings of the bottoms of cars.
Machinery construction and carriage engineering for making of protective paint-and-lacquer coating of
metal structures.
Shipbuilding for protective coating of the bottoms of ships, ice-breakers. There are experience of application
