Used small household electric appliances


Small household electric appliances (the following nine items) which derive
from home and which are no longer necessary are collected as resources.
Please put them in the small household electric appliances collection
boxes installed at the City Office, the City Activity Center, the Chuo Library,
the Waste Management Office Recycle Show Room, and the Garbage ZERO
Promotion Desk.

Please eliminate personal information recorded on a mobile phone.

(30cm x 15cm) of the collection box and what derives from stores or
companies.

will not be returned.

Used Fluorescent Lamps and Bulbs (started collection from May 2015)
Used straight tube fluorescent lamps, circle tube fluorescent lamps or bulb-type
fluorescent lamps from households are collected as recyclables. To prevent being broken,
place them in original wrapping or empty cases, or wrap them with newspapers ,etc.
Then, drop them into the Fluorescent Lamp Collection Box at the City Office, the
City Activity Center, the Central Library, the Waste Management Office Recyclables
Show Room or the Garbage ZERO Promotion Desk.
* Take out other items than fluorescent lamps such as filament lamp
bulbs, broken fluorescent lamps, on Ceramics, Glasses,and Metal
Waste collection day.

 astes/Recyclables from business entities are not collected.

Cooking Oil
The edible vegetable oil (tempra oil, vegetable oil, canola oil, corn oil, etc.) which derive
from home are collected as recyclables. Please eliminate the refuse as much as possible
and put oils in PET bottles, be sure to shut a lid on it, and take it to the Resource
Recovery Locations. Please do not use glass bottles as they are easy to be broken.

 il which was used several times and became dark brownish or was intact but past a
best-before-date is also collected.
*P
 lease take unused articles in original bottles.

PET bottle shredder machine


PET bottle shredder machines have been installed at shops of supermarkets, etc. and they are
collected as recyclables. If you choose to use them, the amount of greenhouse gas emission will
decrease as compared with regular collection. In addition, you can also earn points that can be
used for shopping. Please do not crash PET bottles when you use the shredder machine.

purchased stores.

Resource Recovery Locations


They are collected at the Waste Management Office Recycle Show Room
and the Garbage ZERO Promotion Desk. Also, the City Activity Center
collects them between 9:00 am to noon on the fourth Tuesdays
(if the fourth Tuesday falls on a holiday, on the following
business day).
* Wastes/Recyclables from business entities are not collected.

Business Waste Accepted by Nakano City


Nakano City makes exception for businesses
with 20 or fewer employees or businesses that
generate waste less than 50 kg a day, in case it is
difficult for them to have their own route of waste
disposal. Please purchase the Waste Management
Tickets and attach them on the waste bags for collection. The Waste Management
Tickets are available at convenience stores, etc. with signs The Place where Nakano City
Waste Management Tickets are handled or at Nakano Waste Management Ofiice.

How to Dispose of Waste and Recyclable


If using waste bin

Based on the Home Electric Appliances Recycling Law, makers are performing
recovery and recycling. (Including foreign, used or mail-order products.)
Please request to pick up the unwanted product to the store where that
product was purchased or will be purchased.
If you are not sure where you bought the old product or it's far from your home,
please call the Home Appliances Recycle Reception Center (Phone:03-5296-7200).

Rental Bird Net


To prevent scattered garbage around waste collection sites by birds, Bird Nets are rented for
households who are using the waste collection site with several households. Please request to the
Waste Management Office or the Garbage ZERO Promotion Desk for the rental bird net.

Collection of Deceased Pets (fee-based service)


Waste Management Office collects deceased pet dogs or cats (under 25kg).
A fee of 2,600 is charged for one animal. Please request to the Waste
Management Office for collection.
