EXPERIENCED LEADERSHIP

APPROACH

DEVELOPMENT

I have been a member of the field

marketing team for over 8 years.

My leadership approach puts my

associates first. I consistently acknowledge their efforts, express gratitude, and
share praise for exceptional work.

I have been closely involved in

developing the onboarding curriculum that
associates complete when they join the
Marriott Select Brands team. I have lead
many such trainings personally.

For the last 5 years I have been a

senior leader of marketing and eCommerce
managers and coordinators.
I proactively lead my team to develop
regional and hotel specific marketing
strategies for 37 hotels. This includes
channel strategies, budget management,
campaign development and analysis.
I ensure my team is always focused
around property and regional goals.
In 2016 I was honored to be the only
marketing manager in the Americas
selected to participate in the Emerging
Leadership Program.

This validation and appreciation builds

loyalty, performance, and collaboration.
I build a culture of unconditional
respect on my teams, which creates an
environment where my associates feel safe
to be vulnerable, to ask questions and to
make mistakes.
This culture also ensures that my team
is receptive when I need to deliver
constructive feedback because they know
it comes from a place of compassion.

SAVVY MARKETING KNOW-HOW

I have been a member of the field marketing team since 2008,
leading portfolios of both full service and select service brands.
In 2015 I became a Certified Hospitality Digital Marketer
(CHDM), and one of only 11 Marriott associates to ever earn a
perfect score on the certification exam.

I have a proven track record of

providing in-depth, personalized
development for my associates. My
associates - in turn - have a track record of
earning promotions.
I have consistently cultivated talent
for the field marketing team by conducting
informational interviews for associates
interested in joining our ranks.
I serve up the impressive associates.
Three of them are now top performing
members of our team.

Shout Out: RESULTS

My 2016 digital campaigns for Courtyard San Francisco Downtown
broke YoY records:

For the past 5 years I have lead the Western Mountain Pacific
region. This includes 37 hotels located throughout Downtown San
Francisco, the Greater Bay Area, Downtown Seattle, Portland,
Denver, and Boulder.
I currently manage many big box Courtyard hotels. These
properties are more complex and operate much like full service
hotels due to their location, size, number of outlets, and amount of
meeting space.
One of these hotels is the Courtyard San Francisco Downtown.
It is our top fee producing Courtyard, owned by Ashford hospitality,
and supervised directly by the Western Region Area Vice President.

(YTD through November, 2016)

Shout Out: RESULTS

I have directed regional cluster campaigns for the past 5 years. My
most recent campaigns ran in Q4/2015 and Q1/2016. These
campaigns leveraged Marriott Rewards offers and drove weekend
room night production for 46 hotels:

Courtyard San Francisco Downtown is also publicly traded on

the stock market, which keeps my strategies under the microscope
and intensely critiqued by Ashford Asset Managers.
I work well under this pressure. Ashford described my
presentation of 2016 strategies as the most comprehensive single
hotel e-Com deck we've ever seen - an absolute best practice.

BUSINESS PARTNER

OWNER RELATIONS

REGIONAL STRATEGY

Prior to joining the field marketing

team I worked in sales and operations. This
knowledge makes me a stronger business
partner to my stakeholders, and guides me
when building campaigns and sales tools.

I lead a monthly team call for

marketing managers that support hotels
owned by Ashford Hospitality.

As the senior marketing and

eCommerce leader for the Western
Mountain Pacific region I attend high-level
regional meetings, such as priority watch
market rallies, on behalf of 37 hotels.

I present to my owners and

stakeholders on a monthly basis.
I report out to them on digital results, I
educate them on changes to our strategies,
I partner with them to solve problems, and I
ensure they see value in our services.

These calls serve as a platform to

ensure that we are all aligned and have
consistent messaging to this critical
ownership group.
These calls are also an opportunity to
bubble up new requests or concerns that
Ashford has voiced so that we can be
proactive in addressing them across the
rest of the Americas.

COMMUNICATION
I grew up in theater and on stage, so Ive naturally progressed
as a public speaker. I shine in front of a crowd, and I know how to
command the attention of a room.
My approachable and optimistic personality makes it easy for
me to persuade, convince, excite and gain commitment from my
teams and stakeholders alike.
I am an adaptive and versatile thinker. When working
independently, I thrive in both right brained and left brained
challenges. When working in groups I have a unique ability to
translate creative concepts to analytical people, and vice versa.
This has made me an ideal business partner between yin and
yang departments, such as sales & revenue management.
The presentations that I build are highly visual with many
mock ups, photographs, infographics and screenshots. They are
truly works of art, and are always injected with some humor.

Here I partner with General Managers

and their sales and revenue leadership to
address market wide needs, and to shape
regional strategies.
Then I pull-through and track these
strategies with my marketing and
eCommerce counterparts.

Shout Out: BEST PRACTICE CALLS

In 2016 I was entrusted with hosting a monthly best practice
call for the entire Marriott Select Brands team. Participation in
these calls had been waning, and my leaders wanted to inject some
new life into them.
Each month I select a topic, curate content, secure guest
speakers, and lead each presentation.
I begin each call with a Life Hack for your Work Life. These
range from tools to make work easier, to recommendations around
change management and work/life balance.
The response from the team has been tremendous and participation and engagement on these calls have never been higher.

Make-A-Wish: Wish Ball Gala

Im exceptionally good at building and developing teams of

associates. Its wonderfully satisfying to watch them soar when
theyve been supported with the right resources, empowerment,
and trust. I especially love doing this within the creative frame
work of the marketing and digital discipline.
Knowing that a directorial level position is where Id have the
greatest chance to do this type of work, I have been very
intentionally seeking out leadership opportunities all year so that Id
be fully prepared when a director posting came up.
Within my current role Ive been making every effort to
establish myself almost as a junior director.
My contributions within the Ashford portfolio, in leading
monthly best practice calls, and in onboarding new associates are
formal examples of how I have sought out leadership opportunities.
