1 PURPOSE AND SCOPE

The following numbering system shall be used for all SES engineering drawingstechnical
documents and administrative documents. It is based on clients requeriment.
2 DRAWING NUMBER IDENTIFIER

Each drawing number is composed of a facility prefix, a discipline identifier/unique number

plus a possible special identifier.
All new drawings shall adopt this system.

Existing drawings that are revised shall be renumbered to adhere to the new system.
The original drawing number shall be referenced on the drawing above the title block.
All drawing numbers shall be a configuration of both alpha and numeric characters.
Special Identifier
Discipline Identifier
Facility Identifier
2.1 FACILITY DIENTIFIER

All drawing numbers shall be prefixed with a 3-character code indicating the facility/platform to
which it applies. This project facility Identifier is MLA, AST and BWA
2.2 DISCIPLINE IDENTIFIER

All drawing numbers shall contain a unique 5-digit number. The first digit identifies the major
discipline to which the document applies. The following 4 digits represent a unique number
for each drawing. These 4 digit specific areas for each major discipline.Refer to Table 2-1
for a complete listing of discipline identification numbers.
2.3 STATUS IDENTIFIER

The present status of a drawing shall be indicated by numerical or alphabetical character

either added to the sequence number as a suffix or posted in a separate location on the
drawing title block. Prior to issue outside the engineering/project management team, the
status identifier shall be an alphabetical character, the first issue being A. Letters I and O
shall not be used. Revisions after Z are AA, AB, etc. The status identifier shall shift to
numeric character starting with 0 (zero) upon the drawing being issued for construction. The
status identifier shall become a true revision identifier at this point and shall be sequenced to
the next higher number each time the document is revised.
2.4 EXISTING DRAWINGS

Existing drawings that are revised and renumbered shall have their original drawing number
noted on the drawing for reference
.Existing drawings copied for project work shall have P1 added to the end of their drawing
number. (P1 signifies first copy of drawing, P2 second copy, etc).

2.5 PIPING ISOMETRICS

Piping isometric drawings shall be numbered as per the piping line number they describe.
The isometric drawing number shall match the line number but shall not include the inch
() sign.
Eg. Piping Line Number: PL-126-A-10
Isometric Drawing Number: PL-126-A-10
If the piping line is covered on multiple sheets, the isometric drawing number shall have S1, -S2, etc added to the end of the number.
Eg. Isometric Drawing Number:

PL-126-A-10-S1 for sheet 1

PL-126-A-10-S2 for sheet 2
