JohnW.Keely,discovererofSympatheticVibratoryPhysics,foundameansof
negatingtheeffectofgravityaswellasdevelopingaformofpropulsion.
From1888to1893,Keelyworkedondevelopinghissystemof"AerialNavigation".
Thefirstsuccessfultestwasin1893whichledthewaytotheconstructionofan
aerialcraft.
In1896,Mr.Keelyhadsoperfectedhissystemthathearrangedtogivea
demonstrationoftheaerialcrafttotheUnitedStatesWarDepartment.In
attendanceatthedemonstrationwereanumberofinvitedmembersofthepress.
Descriptionsofthecraftstatethatitwasacircularplatformroughly6feetin
diameter.Onthisplatformwasmountedasmallstoolsetbeforeakeyboard.
Thekeyboardwasattachedtonumeroustunedresonationplatesandvibratory
mechanisms.
Mr.Keelyexplainedthattheseplateswouldcausethecrafttoriseandfloatabove
thegroundwhensubjectedtoapolarizedfieldwhichwouldgeneratea"negative
attraction".
Whentheeffectwasproduced,thecraftwouldcomeundertheinfluenceofthe
"ethericpolarcurrent."
Thecontrollingmechanismconsistedofarowof100vibratorybarsrepresentingthe
enharmonicanddiatonicscales.
Whenhalfofthebarsweredampedthecraftwouldmoveat500milesperhour.
Ifallthebarsweredamped,gravitywouldresumecontrolandthecraftwouldsettle
totheearth.
Therewerenomovingpartsintheship'spropellingmechanism.
Itwasunaffectedbyweatherandcouldriseaboveanystorm.
Theinstrumentforguidingtheairshipwasdistinctlydifferentfromthepropelling

Bydampingoutcertainspecificnotes,Keelycouldcausetheairshiptoaccelerateto
anydesiredspeed.
TheexperimentwascarriedoutinanopenfieldwithobserversfromtheWar
Departmentandthenewsmedia.
Theshipwassaidtohaveacceleratedfrom0to500milesperhourwithinafew
seconds.
MostastoundingwastheapparenttotallackofaccelerationeffectstoMr.Keelyas
hesatonthestoolbeforethekeyboard,controllingtheairship.
Although,thegovernmentofficialswereimpressed,theystatedtheycouldseenouse
forsuchacomplexdeviceandsodidnotpursuethematterfurther.

energiesalreadythere."Inordertotakeadvantageoftheseenergies,wemustnot
onlyknowoftheirexistence,butknowthelawswhichgoverntheiroperationin
natureforsoonlycanweconquerthemandmakeourslavesinsteadofour
masters.
Morethantwentyyearsago,Keely,byseemingchance,discoveredtheunknown
polarflow,andwithoutgivinganyattentiontoresearch,onthelineofitsoriginor
ofitsoperation,begantoconstructenginestoapplytheenergytomechanics.Itwas
notuntilhehadinventedhismarvelousresearchinginstrumentsthathistruework
ofevolutionbeganin1888,which,completedin1893,hasnowbornethetestof
demonstrationandgivenhimcommandofavibratorycircuitforrunning
machinery,bothforterrestrialuseandforaerialnavigation.
Beforethiscouldbebroughtaboutitwasnecessarytoeffectasympatheticaffinity
betweenhismachineryandthepolarflow,minusmagnetism.Thecolossalnatureof
thedifficultiesthathehassurmountedcanneverberealizedasbythosewhohave
followedhimduringthelastfiveyears,andseenthemspringuponeafteranother,
ateveryadvance,tobarhisway.
Throughthissystemthedynamowilleventuallybecomeathingofthepast,and
electriclightingwillbeconductedbyapolarnegativediscrunbyavibratorycircuit

Beforeattemptingtosetdownanyofthegreattruthsofsympatheticphysics,itwill
benecessaryforthescientificreadertohavesomeideaofKeely'sviewsof"Nature's
sympatheticflows."Althoughhehassubstantiatedhistheoriesbydemonstrationto
hisownsatisfactionandtotheconvictionofdistinguishedmenofscience,
electriciansandtoengineers,hewillwelcomeanyrefutationofthemwhichshows
thatheisinerror,forKeelydoesnotclaimtobeinfallible,asdothosewhositin
judgmentuponhim.

"Physicistshavebeenworkinginthewrongdirectiontoleadthemtoassociate
themselveswithNature'ssympatheticevolutions.Itisnotnecessarytoadvance
fartherintotheunexploredregionofthesesympatheticflowsthantheninths,to
becomeconvincedthattheoneIdenominatethedominant,istheleadertoward
whichtheremainingthirdsofthetriunecombination(oftriplesympatheticstreams)
coordinate,whetheritbethecerebellic,gravital,ormagnetic.
Whenwereachtheluminiferoustrackontheninths,inthetriplesubdivision,we
haveproofthattheinfinitestream,fromthatunexploredregionwhereall
sympatheticstreamsemanate,istriuneinitscharacter,havingthedominantasthe
sympatheticleader,towhichtheremainderofthecelestialthirdsaresubservient
thecerebellicbeingtheominant,andthetriplets,(gravital,electric,andmagnetic)
followinginitstrain.
"Themagneticcannotleadtheelectric,northeelectricthegravital,northegravital
themagnetic.Allaresubservienttothedominant,asatrainofcarsissubservientto
thelocomotivewhichpullsitalongtheonlydifferencebetweenthetwoisthatoneis
sympathetic,theothermechanical.Thoughthisisacrudeillustration,itconveysa
greattruthinsympatheticphilosophy.
Allsympatheticflowshavethistriuneconditionassociatedwiththem,thesameas
themolecular,atomicandethericaggregationsofallformsofvisiblematter:the
compoundetheric,ordominant,beingtheleaderandyetoneoftheconstituentsof
themoleculeitself.
Thedominantwemaycalltheethericportionofthemoleculetheharmonic,the
atomicandtheenharmonic,themoleculeitself.Thedominantpartofthetriune
combinationofthesympatheticstreamsaretheleaders,towardwhichallco
ordinatetomakeupthesympatheticenvelopeoftheearth(thecerebralbeingthe
highdominant,orcompoundetheric,theluminiferousproper.)
"Alldiversionfromthepolarterrestrialenvelopearebutnodaloutreaches,induced
bytheproperorderofsympatheticvibrationnotdissociationsandassociationsof
sympathybutoperatingonthesameprincipleastheoutflow,ornodaloutreachof
thementalorganismtowardthephysical,initscontroloverit.
Thelatentconditionsareinastateofneutrality,asregardsaction,untiltheexciter
mentaloutreachisbroughtintosympatheticplay.Ifwedissociatethesympathetic
mentalfromthelatentphysical,itwouldbeequivalenttobeheadingit
consequently,thephysicalwouldceasetoexistasathingoflifebutthedominant
thecerebralwouldremaininitsunchangedform,viz.,thehighetheric.

"Thesystemofinducingdifferentialharmoniesbycompoundthirdsisonethatthe
worldofsciencehasneverrecognizedsimplybecausethestrugglesofphysicists,
combatingwiththesolutionoftheconditionsgoverningthefourthorderofmatter,
havebeeninadirectionantagonistictotherightone.
BythisImeanthatphysicistsrejectthetrueconditionsofthedissociationofmatter
recognizingandholdingfasttoanadverselawdebarringthesubdivisionofthe
atom,andridiculingtheexistenceoflatentforceinintermolecularspace.
Ihavesubstantiatedthetripleformationofthemoleculebythedifferentialtriple
replythatitgiveswhenexcitedbycompoundconcordantimpulses,andbythe
acceleratedrangeofmotionwhichitassumesunderintensifiedvibration,evento
dissociationfromitsfellowsprovingthisdissociationbytheincreasedamountof
latentenergyevolved,progressively."
AtanearlyperiodofKeely'sresearches,onthelinessuggestedbythedistinguished
professoroftheBonnUniversity,Dr.Beriz,Viz.,oftheconditionsgoverningthe
operationinnatureoftheunknownenergyhewasdealingwith,Keelywrotetoa
friend.
"Itappears,inmyresearchingexperiments,quiteevidenttome,thatunder
differentordersofprogressivevibration,whenthesixthorderisreachedonthe
positive,aconditionpresentsitselfinanaccompanyingagentthataddstothe
ethericflowaverypeculiaraction.Icallthisthirdagentitssympatheticattendant.
"Inthephysicalorganism,thecirculatoryforceshavetheirattendantsintheform
ofnerves,whicharethesensatorytelegraphstoallpartsofthehumansystem.
Ihavereasontobelievethatundertheseventhsubdivisionofmatteraconditionis
reachedwhereperfectassimilationtakesplacebetweenthesetwosympathetics,thus
showingtheluminiferoustrack.Itisthisassimilationorassociationthatinducesthe
luminosity,Iamquitecertainbutinthisunitionthereisnothingapproaching
corpuscularfriction,whichinitselfisantagonistictoluminosity.
"Consequentlytheunitionofthesesympatheticthirdsmusttakeplacebygravital
assimilation,whichisthehighestofsympatheticunion.Thisisthecompoundetheric
flow,orsoulofmatter.Thesympatheticattendantmustbetheodylicor
comparativelyspeaking,itsnerveforce.Reichenbachexercisesawonderfullyfar
seeingjudgmentinhisargumentonthis,thehighestpreponderable.
"IfIamable,withtheinstrumentIamnowconstructing,todemonstratethese
assertionsastruths,itwillamplyrepaytheresearcherofalifetime.Theconditions
governingthenerveforceoftheplanetarysystemmaythenbeunraveledbyfuture
research.Thisseemstobetooimmenseanaimtobeassociatedwithhumanthought.
"IhopeIamthe`compoundlunatic'thatthescientificworldcallsme,towhomitis
giventoworkoutthedemonstrationofthese`hiddenthingsofGod'whichhitherto

methodofworkthatthevitalizingofinstruments,whichformerlytookhimthree
day,isnowaccomplishedinfifteenminutes,usinghydrogeninincreasingmolecular
oscillationtothepointwherethepowercanberegistered.Uptoacertainstatehe
wasabletoemploytheetherbutinthisprocessitwouldbeasimpossible,asitisto
taketheflowofthoughtinone'shandsandbyphysicalefforttieitinaknot.
Having,intheseresearches,succeededinwrestingformNaturetheconditionsof
planetarysuspension,heisnowwellonhiswaytowardgainingthecloselyguarded
secretofthefirefly.AllthatNaturedoeswithNature'sforcesmanwillbeabletodo
whenhehaswrungfromhergrasp,onebyone,thekeysthatshestillclenchesinher
handsforitisNatureherself,notScience,whichhasgiventotheworld,inthis
systemofaerialnavigation,"thecrowningachievementofacenturyofprogress."
Keelyhasnevermadebutoneexperimentindissociationthehydrogenofthe
chemist.Afterapersistenteffortofoversevenweeks'duration,inhisattemptto
confineitandholditunderassimilationwithonethirditsvolumeofdisintegrated
air,hesucceededinobtainingaratherindefiniteresult,lastingonlyaboutninety
seconds.
Theluminosityshownwastheonlyevidencehehadofitsdissociation,butinhis
processofdisintegrationofwater,heneverfailstoobtainproofofthetriple
subdivisionofhydrogenmolecular,atomicandinteratomic.
Eachdiscofthepolaranddepolargroupingsinthepropelleroftheairshipcontains
sevenpintsofhydrogen.Inpreparingthesediscs,thehydrogenissubmittedtoa
tripleorderofvibration.
Thecorpuscularenvelopesofthemoleculesarenotenlargedinvolume,undertheir
receptivecondition,buttheirvelocityofrotationisincreased.Whileunderthe
operationofthistransmittivevibrationtheirvortexactionismadevisible.
UnderdateofNovember2,1891,Keelywroteofoneofhisresearchinginstruments
whichhewastheninventing,toovercomenodalinterferenceinsympathetic
negativeoutreach:"Thisinstrumentcombinesthedisintegratorandthepositive
negativeindicatorinone.Itwillbebutanintermediate,asbetweenthesympathetic
negativetransmitterandthedepolarizer.Atpresent,Iamworkinglikeaman
suspendedbetweenheavenandearth,tryingtoreachonewithoutleavingthe
other."
ThisisoneofKeely'smanyaptfiguresofspeech,whichconvey,asnootherwords
could,whathispositionhasbeeninthepast.Thewonderfulinstrument(the
sympatheticharness)whichhehasnowcompletedtoconnectthepolarflowwiththe
propelleroftheairship,substantiateswhatonlytwoyearsagowaspurely
theoreticalinKeely'ssystemofsympatheticvibratoryphysicsandfiguratively
speaking,provesthatwithoutleavingearthhehaslaidholdoftheverybattlements
ofcelestialregions,thusopeningapathwayformenofsciencetoreachthesolution
oftheirmostintricateproblems.
OftenhasKeelyexpressedhisregretthatmechanicalphysicistshavenothad
suitableinstrumentsfortheirresearches,sayingthattheywouldlongsincehave
discoveredtheirerrorshadtheybeeninpossessionofproperinstrumentsfor
acousticresearch.Itwassomephotographsofhisinstrumentswhichledthelate
HenriHertz,afterexaminingthem,tosayin1889:
"Nomanwhoisworkingontheselines,withsuchinstruments,isafraud.Icannot

helphimnoonecanhelphimhemustworkouthissystemalone,andwhenitis
completed,wecanpursueourresearchesonthesameline.IthoughtKeelywas
working,asIam,withanelectricalmachineandwires.Ihadnoideaofthese
wonderfulinstruments.
ThemachineusedbyKeely,from1872to1882,fordisintegratingwater,weighed
severaltons.Sincethattime,inhisworkofevolution,hehasmadesuchadvances
thattheonehenewusesisnolargerthewheelofaperambulator(oldtermforbaby
carriage).
InKeely'sprocessofdisintegratingwater,theproportionofoxygentohydrogenis
suchastofavorthebringingabout,underacertainorderoftriplevibration,the
antagonisticdifferentiationnecessarytoproducemolecularandatomiccorpuscular
dissociation.
Whenthisdissociationtakesplace,thehydrogenbecomeshighlyrotating,acting
likeamolecularcapsulewiththeoxygenenclosed.Whileunderthisconditionwhen
confinedinatube,theyremaindissociateduntiltheperipheralrotationofthe
hydrogenisinterferedwith.
Oneofthefoundationstonesofvibratoryphysicsisthat"nodifferentiationcan
existintheworkingsofthepurelawofharmony."Ifthisiscorrect,thesesocalled
elementshaveatriplebasic,asvibratoryphysicsteaches,forthesystemthat
representsharmonyinonesensemustrepresentitinall,oreverythingwouldbe
broughtinto"chaoticconfusion."
Therefore,asKeelysurmised,longbeforehewasabletoproveittohisown
satisfaction,hydrogenmust,undertheconditionsofthislaw,becomposedofthree
elementsandthesethreeelementsinturnmusteachhaveatripleformation,andgo
onindefinitely,untilvergedintotheinfiniteinterluminous.
Thecorrectnessofthesehypotheseshasbeenprovedbythevaryingdegreesof
energyevolvedinprogressivedisintegrationfromthemoleculartotheintroductory
etheric.Keelywrites
"Thenearertheapproachtotheneutralcentres,whenthedissociationtakesplace,
thegreateristhelatentforceevolved.Inmoleculardissociationtheinstrumentisset
onthethirds,meetingwitharotatingresistanceoffivethousandpoundspersquare
inch,withoutanyinterferencewiththeintermolecularposition.
Theinstrumentissetonthesixths,withtheintermolecularposition.The
instrumentissetonthesixths,toliberateintermolecularlatentforce,which,when
liberated,isequaltoaresistanceoftenthousandpounds.
Toreachtheatomiccentres,theinstrumentissetontheninthsdominant,thesixths
harmonic,andthethirdsenharmonic,havingthetransmittivechordBassociated
witheach.
Atthissettingthecorpuscularpercussionexceedstwentyfivethousandspoundsper
squareinch.Thesubservienceofthecoordinatesympathyisshownintheresultby
apressureexceedingfifteenthousandpounds,reaching,inthissubdivision,almost
asneartheneutralsasinstrumentscancarryus.
Theatomicandinteratomicsettingsconstitutetheintroductoryconditions
governingthenodaloutreachastowardtheetheric.Underthisconditionof

heretoforeliberated.Theregionoftheinaudibleisreachedtheintroductory
ethericandthefirstfeaturesoftheinvisiblelatentforceexistingincorpuscular
embracehavebeenhandled.
"Wemustputourshoesfromoffourfeeti.e.,layasideourearthlybodiesbefore
wecangofurther.Butthisisfarenoughtoprovethatnothingislost,andthat,when
thisrepellentorderofthingsisbroughtabout,andsocalledelementsareseparated,
theseelementsyieldup,intheirmolecularseparation,whatmaybecalledtheir
souls,ormoreprogressiveelements.
"Wehavegonefarenoughtofindthatthereisnosuchthingasdeaththatmatter
cannotdie,anymorethanthesubstanceorspiritualessencewhichcontrolsitcan
die.Theworddeathisamisnomer,forthereisonlyachangeofbaseinthe
molecularvisible,anditisthesamewiththesympatheticinvisible,forcelestial
radiationclaimshercanbackagaintoitsrealmofspiritualexistence."

"Itisthroughtheactionofnature'ssympatheticforcesthatplanetsarebornand
theirvolumeofmatteraugmented.
Ifthesympathetic,negativepolarstreamwerecutofffromtheearth,itsmolecular
masswouldbecomeindependent,andwouldfloatawayintospaceaswouldasoap
bubblefilledwithwarmair.
Thesameconditionsofgoverningruleexistintheplanetarymassesasbetweenthe
mentalandphysicalforcesinourorganismtheorganismrepresentingtheearth,
anditslinkwiththecerebralcentrestheconnectionwiththeinfinitemind.
Inotherwords,thelatentenergyexistingintheneutraldepthsofmatter,visibleor
invisible,remainseternallysubservientandunchangeablylinkedtotheeternal
mind.Truescienceisbastardizedbyintimatingthatthelifeinmattercanbe
destroyedbyanyintensityofthermalnegation(frigidity).Canfinitemanmakeuse
ofaninfiniteelementtoneutralizeinfinity?
Thermalnegationcausesmolecularoscillationtodiminish,orevenseemtocease,
buttheresultsbroughtaboutfromthissuperficialappearanceofmattercomingto
restarethatthelatentenergyexistinginthemolecularzoneistransferredtothe
intermolecular,increasingtheoscillationsoftheintermolecularinthesameratio
thatthemolecularisdiminished.
Alltheartthatmancanemploytoinducethesameeffectontheintermolecular
zoneendshere.Granting,however,thatitwerepossible,whatwouldensue?
"Adisintegration,ofthemostintenseexplosivecharacter,ofthevolume
experimentedupon,destroyingtheapparatusanditssurroundings.Butnoartifice
ofthephysicistcouldeverproducesuchconditions.

mediumofcelestialradiation)isatrinity,bothinregardtoitsvisibleformandthe
invisiblesympatheticstreamswhichgovernit,initsindividualandcombined

Thevisibleincludesthemolecular,theatomicandinteratomicincombination
whiletheinvisible,orspiritual,includestheetheric,interethericandluminousin
combination,eachofwhichisessentialtothepropercompletionofthecombined
action,comprisingasitdoeseveryminutelawgoverningthecelestialandterrestrial
universe.
"LifebegetslifethecelestiallifebegetstheterrestriallifetheGodLifebegetsthe
ManLife.Celestialradiationisthepuresoulofallmatter,bothearthyandgaseous.
Thuswearelinkedinallourenvironmentstothedivine,ourcerebralaggregations
beingthehighestmediumwherebycelestialsympatheticreflectionassociateswith
ourorganisms,andisouronlysourceofknowledgeofourselves.
Wehave,withourmentalandphysicalforces,adualityofactionwhich,when
combinedwiththecelestial,makesupthetripletortrinity.Withthemental,the
superficialvisible,oroutwardsightwiththeinward,orspiritualinvisible,wehave
thespirituallinkconnectingmindandmatter,theorderoftransferbeing:
"FirstCelestialradiation,oretheric.
"SecondMentalimpregnation,orinteratomic.
