Dear Future River Trail Wolves and Parents:
It is almost time for middle school. Are you ready? Are you excited? We are, and we
are looking forward to having you as a member of our dynamic RTMS community of
learners. The events on the back of this letter are designed to help with your transition
to middle school. Please plan on attending the dates that pertain to you.
In addition, Fulton County has specific requirements for Immunizations and Residency
for students entering 6th grade. We will begin collecting Camp forms (these will be sent
home mid-March) and Residency Verifications at the Rising 6th Grade Parent Night. A
flyer included with this letter addresses each of the requirements.
Also included is a letter introducing the music programs offered at River Trail Middle as
well as a Save the Date for our lunch for dinner event to be held the night of our
Rising 6th Grade Parent Night.
On behalf of the faculty, staff and students of River Trail, we welcome each and every
one of you. We know you are prepared for success in middle school, and we are here to
assist you in whatever way we can. Please monitor the River Trail website this summer
for events, school supply lists, and Sneak Preview information. If you have any

Details:
This general meeting will give you an overview of the TAG program at the
middle school level. TAG placement recommendations for middle school
will not be distributed at this meeting, but will be sent home from your
childs elementary school. Middle school placement is based on elementary
school recommendation.
This meeting will provide parents and students with detailed information
about Band, Orchestra, or Chorus.
This is the big everything you need to know about middle school meeting
you dont want to miss it! All 5th graders and their parents should plan to
attend one of these meetings; it is not necessary to attend both sessions.
Please make childcare arrangements for any other children so you can stay
for the entire meeting. Affidavits of residence will be collected on these
nights.
This optional meeting is for parents only and is designed for parents who will
be sending their first child to middle school in the fall. This is your chance to
ask questions, express your joys or fears, clarify rumors, and meet other
parents in similar situations.

5th grade students will tour the school, visit classrooms, learn about clubs and
activities, and hear from Student Ambassadors.
