For and on behalf of BOKARO POWER SUPPLY COMPANY (P) LTD (BPSCL), sealed tenders in duplicate in four parts, i.e. Cost of
Tender Document along with proof of qualifying requirements (Part A), EMD (Part B), Techno-commercial bid (Part-C) and Price bid (Part
D) are invited by the undersigned from reputed manufacturers or their authorized representative for Supply, Installation, Testing &
Commissioning of 500 KVA DG Set including all accessories as per the details given in Description of Material (Section-IV).

Qualifying requirements: i) The bidder shall be either of the following:a) An original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of Industrial DG Set having valid ISO-9001 certification for the same, duly
issued by competent authority.
OR
b) An authorized representative of the Original Equipment Manufacturer of Industrial DG Set, as described above.
Proof of the same (together with certificates of authorization from OEM, in case of authorized representative) must be submitted
along with the bid.
ii) The bidder shall submit self attested copy(ies) of:

Purchase order (P.O) (s), (issued within last five years) as proof of supply of one or more Industrial DG Set(s), each of
capacity 500 KVA or more, supplied to a PSU, Central / State Government Organization, or, Joint Venture /
Regulated Company thereof.
Certificate of successful installation, testing & commissioning of the same, as described above.

iii) The bidder shall submit self attested copies of audited balance sheet, profit & loss account for last three (03) consecutive financial
years. The average annual turnover of the bidder during last three financial years should not be less than Rupees (INR) Ninety Lakh
(Rs. 90 Lakh).
iv) The bidder shall furnish up to date IT return.
v) The bidder will have to submit authenticated (signature with seal of the company) copy of documentary evidence of Sl. No. (i) to
(iv) along with the tender, failing which the bid will be summarily rejected.
vi) The bidder shall submit a declaration that he/it/they is/are not debarred by any Central / State Government agencies or by any PSU
company under any sort of blacklist / holiday-list.

General Terms & Conditions:

i)
Tenderers should obtain the tender documents from Companys website www.bpscl.in and submit the duly filled documents along
with the cost of tender documents of Rs. 3000/= by way of demand draft drawn on any nationalized bank/scheduled commercial
bank, drawn in favour of Bokaro Power Supply Co (P) Ltd, payable at Bokaro Steel City, in the office of the undersigned on any
working day during office hours. However Govt. organization, small scale industries registered with NSIC, need not submit the
cost of tender document subject to production of the documentary evidence like valid Registration Certificate of the same item or
group of item from appropriate Govt. Authority.
ii)
Tender shall be enclosed with EMD of Rs. 1,24,100.00 (Rupees One Lakh Twenty Four Thousand One Hundred) only in
shape of DD drawn on any Nationalized Bank / Scheduled Commercial Bank except Co-operative bank in favour of Bokaro Power
Supply Company (P) Ltd., payable at Bokaro Steel City. However EMD exemption, wherever applicable, may be availed of by
Government organizations / Small Scale Industries registered with NSIC against proper entitlement documents.
iii)
The undersigned reserves the right to either reject any / all tenders without assigning any reason thereof and also reserve the right
to alter the qualifying requirements.
iv)
Any corrigendum/addendum/extension of bid opening date will be published through our website www.bpscl.in only and
not through news paper.

Section I
1.00 Conditions & Rules to be observed in submitting Tenders
1.01 Manner of Submission of the Tender
The tender shall be divided into 04 parts as follows:a) Part A: This part Comprises Proof of Qualifying Requirements along with an authenticated
copy of latest Income Tax return Certificate and latest Sales Tax return Certificate, copy of
purchase orders, marked with (Part-A) Qualifying Requirements, NIT No. & date.
b) Part B: This part comprises the Earnest Money Deposit in the manner as stated in the tender
which shall be in one envelope marked with (Part-B) EMD, NIT No. & date.
c) Part C: This part Comprises Technical and Commercial details executed, consent on General
terms & conditions framed under Section II etc. marked with (Part-C) Techno-Commercial
Bid, NIT No. & Date.
d) Part D: This part shall contain only the price schedule comprising the rates filled in figures and
words as per the instruction given elsewhere in this tender. This should be kept in a sealed cover
marked Price Bid (Part -D), NIT No. and Date.
1.01.1 Each part should be sealed in separate envelopes, clearly superscribing on the top of each
envelope the relevant part number and description along with NIT reference and date of
opening and submit all the parts simultaneously in another sealed envelope clearly
superscribing NIT reference and date of opening.
1.02 Tender Validity Period
The tender shall be valid atleast for 120 (One Hundred Twenty) days from the date of opening.
1.03 General
i)
The bidder shall complete the Bid Proposal in all respect by inserting correct applicable
data in the blank box against each item/Sl. No. positively.
ii)

The tender rates shall be written in English, in ink both words and figures. In the case of any
discrepancy between the words & figures of the rates quoted, the rates expressed in words
shall be taken as correct. In the case of discrepancy in the Unit Rate and Amount, Unit Rate
will govern. Erasures, changes, and corrections of whatever type/nature shall be attested by
the tenderer. The rates amount shall be written in Rupees and Paise only. The rates in words
shall be written in one single line only without admitting any interpolations.

iii)

All pages of the copies of documents submitted as credentials should be duly signed /
self attested (with seal of the company) by representative of the bidder.

iv)

If the intending tenderer is a Firm or Company, then they shall, in the forwarding letter,
mention the number and names of all the partners shall sign before submitting the same
unless the Power of Attorney holder has specifically been authorized in this respect.

v)

If any tenderer withdraws his tender before its acceptance or refuses within a reasonable

time without giving any satisfactory and acceptable explanation thereof, the tenderer shall be
disqualified for making any tender of the BPSCL for a minimum period of one year and the
Earnest Money will be forfeited.
vi)

Proprietary Article Certificate (PAC) and Price Reasonable Certificate (PRC) stating that the
prices charged are reasonable and the same being charged to all the Govt./Semi govt.
organisations/ PSUs including D.G.S.& D. where applicable. Where agent commission is
involved, the same in percentage invariably be indicated.

vii)

Handling of Earnest Money:

a) Earnest Money will be refunded to the un-successful tenderer after finalisation of tender and no
interest will be paid for the same.
b) The amount of Earnest money will be refunded against submission of Security Deposit only in
case of successful Tenderer.
viii) In case the date of tender opening happens to be holiday, the tender will be opened on the next
working day at same time.
ix)

Any conditional offer or offer having deviations from our specification & instruction
sheets is liable to be rejected.

x)

BPSCL reserves the right either to reject any/all the tenders without assigning any reason
thereof.

Section II
2.00 General Terms and Conditions
2.01

Specification, quantity, unit rate, taxes, duties, fright, insurance, packaging, forwarding etc.
should be mentioned separately and clearly.

2.02

Offer is to either type written or by handwritten and in no case partly type written and partly
hand written. No corrections, overtyping shall be permitted. If so, the same shall be
summarily rejected.

2.03

The Tenderer shall quote the unit rate in figures as well as in words. The rates quoted shall be
inclusive of, in all cases, costs, taxes etc. It should be in the format given in PART D

2.04

Tenders shall be accompanied by a copy of latest IT Return submitted, Sales Tax Registration
no. of the Individual/Party/Firm submitting the tender.

2.05

Bank details mentioning account number, bank name, city, branch name and branch code
should be mentioned in the offer.

2.06

Tenderer shall furnish materials test certificate from Govt. Test House along with supply.

2.07

Paying authority In-charge (F&A), BPSCL but bill in triplicate duly receipted on the
revenue stamp with a copy of TC, GC & Packing list etc. be submitted to Consignee: InCharge (Stores), Power Plant, Bokaro Power Supply Company (P) Limited for processing of
the same.

2.08

Tenderers shall quote their firm rates and no negotiations will be held except with the lowest
tenderer, if required.

2.09

Supplies must be strictly in accordance with material specifications. Suppliers will be

responsible for deviation whatsoever.

2.10

a) The supplier will be held responsible for the stores not being sufficiently and properly
packed at his expenses for the transport by rail, road and sea; so as to ensure them being free
from loss or injury at their destination. This will apply Ex-Godown office also.
b) Each bale or package delivered under our order shall at the expense of the supplier be
distinctly marked with description and quantity of contents with the consignees name and
address with gross weight with the name of supplier and with a distinctive number or mark
which is also to be shown for the purpose of identification of the suppliers packing account.
c) Each bale or package shall contain a packing note quoting the number and date of our order
showing its contents in detail.

2.11

In accepting the order you are understood to accept to all responsibilities for and infringement
in registered design, trademark, patent rights etc.

2.12

Arrangements for insurance wherever is necessary will be made by BPSCL in our open
general policy.

2.13

Where a claim of Sales Tax is preferred and admitted, the supplier must satisfy that he is a
registered dealer under Sales Tax Act and Possesses a Certificate of Registration in the firms
name in which the supply is made and shall in proof thereof, while submitting bills for
payment, furnish the number date and other particulars of such Certificate.

2.14

Security Deposit : The successful tenderer will have to deposit as security, for satisfactory
execution of the order, an amount of 5% of P.O. value subject to a minimum of
Rs. 2, 50,000.00 in any form - Bank Guarantee ( as per BPSCL format), Bank Draft/ Bankers
Cheque in Favour of Bokaro Power Supply Company (P) Ltd., B.S. City.
The expression satisfactory execution of the order shall mean fulfillment of all obligation
arising out of and the guarantees stipulated in the contract. In default at satisfactory execution
of the order the security deposit shall be forfeited to the BPSCL.
Any penalty for which the successful tenderer shall be found liable or any liquidated damages
which shall be payable to the BPSCL in terms of the Purchase Order/ Contract, shall also be
recoverable by the BPSCL from the Security deposit. If such security deposit will not be
adequate for the purpose of liquidating the amount of penalty and/or damages as
contemplated, the amount in excess thereof shall be deducted from any sum or sums which
may be due or may become due to the successful tenderer from the BPSCL on any account
whatsoever.
Not withstanding what has been stated above if the successful tenderer shall have duly
performed all his obligation under and the guarantees stipulated in the purchase order /
contract and observe all the terms and conditions thereof and no penalty shall have been
recoverable from him and / or the BPSCL shall not have suffered any damages whatsoever,
then security deposit shall be refunded, on receipt of a certificate from the consignee that there
is no claim against the Successful tenderer under the Purchase Order / Contract.
i)

The Parties should clearly indicate their prices firm in all respects till execution of
the order and on door delivery basis by Bank approved road transport to BPSCL
Stores.

ii)

In case of asking any variation on any account whether raw materials or sales tax or
excise duty or transportation etc. will not be treated as firm price on that account
and hence parties should state everything clearly.

2.15

Delivery Required: Within four (04) / six (06) months after placement of purchase order.
However earliest possible delivery date may please be quoted.

Note :

Without any specific mention regarding Excise Duty, Freight & Insurance, Sales Tax,
packing and forwarding charges, they would be taken as included in the quoted prices and
no claim for these would be entertained latter.
Makers name brand, if any and Country of Origin should be quoted, otherwise tender may
be treated as rejected.

Special Instruction:

Tenders must signify their willingness to submit security deposit. Tender will
be opened 20.02.2012 at 03.30 PM. If it is declared a holiday by BPSCL then
in the next working day in the presence of Tenderers Authorized
Representatives, who wish to be present.

Section- III
3.00 Instruction Sheet
3.01

Properly authenticated test certificates with all technical details of similar items
previously manufactured and tested by a government certified laboratory should be
provided along with the bids. The test data should be in conformance with i.e. safety
norms and is norms.

3.02

Properly authenticated test certificates of each of the items by a government certified

laboratory should be provided at the time of delivery of the subject items. The test data
should be in conformance with IEC safety norms and is norms.

3.03

Test certificates should clearly out-line the actual material composition of Supply,
Installation, Testing & Commissioning of 500 KVA DG Set including all accessories as
well as other relevant parameters (please refer the specification given in description of
material Section IV).

3.04

The Original documents are to be produced on demand.

Properly authenticated Guarantee certificates should be provided with all the items.
The guarantee period should be at least twelve (12) months from the date of
commissioning or eighteen (18) months after delivery of the material, whichever is
earlier.
Each of the items should be completed in all respects, including connecting leads,
clamps, etc. For connecting the items to the over-head conductors, if applicable.

For any manufacturing defect discovered during the guarantee period under normal
operation, the defective items must be replaced free of cost by the successful tenderer.
Tenderer must agree with despatch of materials after duly stamped by inspecting
authority.
Each castings/forgings shall bear your identification mark and our mark BPSCL.
Acceptance of materials is subject to testing / inspection and fitment in our existing
systems.
Tenderer must agree with Price Basis as F.O.R. BPSCL Stores.

3.13

Tenderer must agree with Payment terms of 100% against GRN. In case of payment to
be made through dispatch documents all Bank Charges shall be borne by Supplier.

3.14

Delivery:-

Timely delivery is the essence of the contract.

In the event of supply not being effected within the contractual delivery schedule given
in the order, liquidated damages @ % of the value of the materials with taxes and
duties, per week of delay or part thereof, subject to a maximum of 05% is recoverable
from the supplier without prejudice to the right of BPSCL to procure the balance
material at the risk & cost of the supplier.
In the event of failure to supply the goods, or part thereof, within the scheduled delivery
period, BPSCL reserves the right to cancel the contract part thereof, and if so desired, to
purchase the goods from alternate source at the risk and cost of the defaulting supplier.

Instrumentation and Protection:
The total instrumentation and protection for above items are to be
provided as a complete package by the party including;
Supply, installation, testing & commissioning of Protection Relays,
MCBs, Selector Switches, Push Buttons with NO/NC Contacts, Amp
Meters, Volt Meters, Frequency & other Meters, Indicating Lights,
Current Transformers, panels (with sealed doors to stop entry of
moisture & dust), cooling fans (if required), etc, of adequate capacity /
specifications, together with all accessories, wiring, clamps, etc, as
required for regular, proper and prompt monitoring of perfect health of
the DG set, battery set, battery charger set, Auto Changeover panels,
other panels, cables, earthing installation, taken together to be a
complete package.
Earthing Installation:
All fixing accessories shall be proper such as brass saddles, brass
screws, rawl plugs etc. Use of copper thimbles is also required. All
jointing shall be done by riveting & brazing in case of copper earthing
& GI earthing. Cutting chases holes & making good the same shall be
resorted to wherever required. Effective, adequate & proper
interconnections shall be there. All earthing pits shall also be
adequately interconnected. Earthing system shall comply to IS: 3043
1987. All equipments, panels shall be connected on either ends (double
earthing) with suitable strips /wires.

PROPERLY AUTHENTICATED TEST CERTIFICATES AND GUARANTEE CERTIFICATES ARE TO BE

PROVIDED BY THE AGENCY.

THE GUARANTEE PERIOD SHOULD BE AT LEAST TWELVE (12) MONTHS FROM THE DATE OF
COMMISSIONING OR EIGHTEEN (18) MONTHS AFTER THE DELEVERY OF THE ITEM, WHICHEVER IS
EARLIER.

4.

FOR ANY MANUFACTURING DEFECT DISCOVERED DURING THE GUARANTEE PERIOD UNDER
NORMAL OPERATION, THE DEFECTIVE ITEM MUST BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED FREE OF COST.

5.

THE AGENCY IS TO INSTALL, TEST & COMMISSION THE ENTIRE NEW DG SET, AS A COMPLETE
TURN KEY PACKAGE AT THE SITE, WITHIN THE EXISTING SPACE & OTHER RESTRICTIONS IMPOSED
BY THE ACTUAL CONDITIONS.

6.

THE BIDDER IS WELCOME TO VISIT THE SITE AT POWER PLANT, TO STUDY THE EXISTING
CONDITIONS LIKE SPACE LIMITATION & OTHER HINDRANCES. AFTER STUDYING THE SITE, THE
BIDDER IS TO SUBMIT THE LAYOUT DRAWINGS OF THE EXCITATION TRANSFORMERS, METAL CLAD
CUBICLES & PANELS OF THE SYSTEMS, ETC. THESE LAY OUT DRAWINGS WILL FINALLY HAVE TO BE
SANCTIONED BY THE REPRESENTATIVES OF BPSCL.

THE INSTALLATION, TESTING & COMMISSIONING OF THE SUBJECT SYSTEMS WILL BE DEEMED

THE NEW ITEMS. ALL THE RESOURCES INCLUDING MANPOWER, TOOLS & TACKLES, ETC. WILL
HAVE TO BE PROVIDED BY THE AGENCY.

9.

THE SUPERVISION OF THE INSTALLATION, TESTING & COMMISSIONING JOB IS THE SOLE
RESPONSIBILITY OF THE SUPPLIER; ALL THEIR STAFF SHOULD HAVE THE STATUTORY
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE.

10. THE SUPPLIER WILL BE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY UNSAFE, UNWORTHY, INDECENT, OR,
UNTOWARD INCIDENT WHICH MAY OCCUR DURING THE WHOLE JOB.
11. THE BIDDER MUST SUBMIT WRITTEN AGREEMENT TO TAKE UP ANNUAL MAINTENANCE CONTRACT
(AMC), AFTER THE GUARANTEE PERIOD, OF THE WHOLE SUBJECT SYSTEMS AT A REASONABLE
COST, WHICH SHOULD BE CLEARLY STATED IN THE AGREEMENT ALONGWITH ALL TERMS AND
CONDITIONS.
12. THE AGENCY WILL HAVE TO SUPPLY ALL THE ACCESSORIES NECESSARY FOR THE COMPLETE
SUBJECT ITEMS FREE OF COST.
13. THE SUPPLIER WILL HAVE TO INSTALL, TEST & COMMISSION THE NEW SUBJECT ITEMS AT THE SITE
USING ITS OWN RESOURCES LIKE MEN & MATERIALS INCLUDING SYSTEM COMPONENTS,
ACCESSORIES, CABLES, CONNECTORS, JUNCTION BOXES, ROWS OF TERMINALS, TOOLS &
TACKLES, ETC. BPSCL WILL ONLY PROVIDE SPACE, LT POWER SUPPLY & ILLUMINATION.
14. ANY MINOR OR MAJOR MODIFICATION(S) NEEDED DURING ERECTION, TESTING & COMMISSIONING
OF THE NEW ITEMS AT THE SITE, IS (ARE) TO BE CARRIED OUT BY THE SUPPLIERS USING THEIR
OWN RESOURCES.
15. FOR INSTALLATION, ETC., SHUT-DOWN OF ANY EXISTING SYSTEM, IF NEEDED, WILL BE DONE ONLY
AS PER CONVENIENCE OF THE OPERATION WING OF THE POWER PLANT, & THE SUPPLIER MUST
PLAN ITS COMMISSIONING ACTIVITIES ACCORDINGLY, & COMPLETE THE JOB WITHIN THE TIME
FRAME STIPULATED BY THE ENGINEER-IN-CHARGE, BPSCL.
16. THE SUCCESSFUL BIDDER MUST ARRANGE FOR TRAINING OF START-UP, OPERATION AND
MAINTENANCE OF DG SETS, AT THE WORKS / TRAINING CENTER OF THE MANUFACTURER, FOR TWO
(02) ENGINEERS OF BPSCL, OTHER THAN SITE TRAINING DURING COMMISSIONING. FULL ACCESS
TO THE WHOLE TECHNOLOGY INCLUSIVE OF WRITEUPS & TECHNICAL LITERATURE OF INDIVIDUAL
COMPONENTS AS WELL AS THE SYSTEM AS AWHOLE MUST BE ISSUED TO THE TRAINEE
ENGINEERS. THIS TRAINING PACKAGE & ASSOCIATED LITERATURE, ETC, SHOULD BE PROVIDED
FREE OF COST.
17. THE DG SET HAVE TO BE ERECTED, TESTED AND COMMISSIONED IN PROPER HOUSINGS
ENGINEERED AND DEVELOPED TO PROVIDE A PROPER WATER PROOF DUST-FREE AND SOUND
PROOF ENVIRONMENT. SUCH ENCLOSURE(S) IS(ARE) TO BE ERECTED AT SITE, TAKING IN TO
ACCOUNT THE EXISTING SPACE AND OTHER CONSTRAINTS.

18. ALL TECHNICAL DETAILS, SPECIFICATIONS, DIAGRAMS, CERTIFICATES OR ANY OTHER RELATED
DOCUMENTS ARE TO BE SUBMITTED IN ORIGINAL ALONG WITH THE FOUR (04) NUMBERS OF
COPIES TO THE ENGINEER-IN-CHARGE FOR APPROVAL, AND HANDED OVER TO BPSCL LATER AFTER
COMMISSIONING.
19. THE NEW ITEMS ARE TO BE ENGINEERED, ASSEMBLED, SHOP TESTED, TRANSPORTED TO SITE OF
BPSCL, INSURED AND STORED UNDER CUSTODY OF THE SUCCESSFUL BIDDER, UNTIL THE
COMMISSIONING IS OVER. SPACE FOR STORAGE WILL BE PROVIDED BY BPSCL.
20. THE SUPPLIER MAY ENGAGE SUB-CONTRACTOR FOR INSTALLATION, TESTING & COMMISSIONING
OF THE SUBJECT ITEMS, AND APPLY FOR THE SAME WITH ALL THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS OF THE
SUB-CONTRACTOR. THE SUB-CONTRACTOR MAY BE DEPLOYED ONLY AFTER DUE APPROVAL OF THE
COMPETENT AUTHORITY OF BPSCL.
21. THE CABLES TO BE SUPPLIED ARE DETAILED ABOVE, BUT THE LENGTH AND TYPES OF THE CABLES

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS FOR DG SET (500 KVA, 400 KW, 3 Ph,

1) GENERAL
DG Power will be required to meet the Emergency Power requirement during Power Failure.
2) CHANGE-OVER FROM NORMAL SUPPLY TO EMERGENCY SUPPLY
DG Sets shall be connected to 415V S/G having 02 Nos, 4 Pole ACB Incomer is connected to
Normal Power Supply & other with DG Set Interconnecting DG Set with 415V S/G Incomer
including Cables shall be carried out by the purchaser. In case of failure of Normal Power
Supply from Grid, the DG Set shall be manually started & the 415V S/G DG Incomer ACB
Breaker shall be closed after DG attains the rated Voltage Current & Frequency.
The Diesel Generating Set shall be located inside a weather proof acoustic enclosure. Diesel

4) ENGINE- GENERATOR EXCITER AUXILIARY BEDPLATE

i. Automatic Electric Starting arrangement of the Engine in case of Power Failure shall be
provided. The system will consists of DC Starter Motor Mounted on Turning Gear & will
receive Power from a set of DC Batteries of suitable Voltage grade.
ii. The DC Starter Motors will be energized as soon as the Impulse to start is given (either
Automatic or Manual) and will start Rotating the Machine. The Motor shall be
Automatically Cut Off from the Battery Circuit as the Engine starts.
iii. Provision for Manual Cranking shall also be provided.
5) FUEL OIL SYSTEM
The Fuel used for the DG Set shall be Light Diesel Oil (LDO)
6) AC GENERATOR
The Generator shall be driven by the Diesel Engine as described in this Specification & shall
match in the all respects. The generator shall also conform to IEC-34/IS-4722 1992 or
equivalent.

7) RATING
Diesel Generator Set shall be Star Connected Synchronous Generator & shall have a
continuous rating of 500 KVA at 0.80 p.f. (Lag) 1500 rpm at 415V, 50 Hz 3Ph at the
prevailing 500 C Ambient Temperature & conditions etc.
8) TERMINAL VOLTAGE & FREQENCY
The Generator shall be capable of delivering rated output at rated p.f. with
i) The Terminal Voltage Differing from the rated value by not more than +/- 5%
ii) The Frequency Differing from the rated value by not more than +/-1%
9) SHORT CIRCUIT CONDITION
The Generator shall be capable of withstanding for Three (3) Seconds, without injury, a 3Ph
Short Circuit at this Terminal when operating at rated KVA, p.f. and a Voltage at 5% Over
Rated Voltage shall exceed 35KA
10) SHORT CIRCUIT RATIO
Short Circuit Ratio (SCR) of the Generator at rated KVA & rated KV shall not be less than
0.5 or the limitation indicated in IEC.
11) PROTECTION
The following protection shall be provided for the Generator:i)
Over Current & Earth Fault Protection (51/51 N)

Lockout Relay (86G)
Lockout Relay shall be Fast Operating Hand-Reset Type with Contacts for a Number
of Switching Operations.
The relay shall be designed for High Degree of Mechanical Stability & shall have

12) EXCITATION SYSTEM
The Generator shall be provided with a complete Excitation System capable of supplying the
Excitation Current of the Generator under all conditions of output from No Load to Full Load
& capable of maintaining Voltage of the Generator constant at any value within +/- 5% of the
rated Voltage. The rated Current & Voltage of Main Exciter shall be 110% Generator rated
Excitation Current & Voltage. The type of Insulation of the Armature Field Winding of the
Exciter shall be Class F and the temperature rise above 500 C Ambient shall not exceed the
values specified in IEC fir different parts corresponding to Class H.
13) VOLTAGE REGULATOR
An Automatic, High Speed, Non Dead Band Type Voltage Regulator shall be furnished.
The Regulation System shall be provided with equipment for Automatic & Manual Control.
Necessary equipment shall be furnished for the followinga) To prevent Automatic rise of Field Voltage in case of failure of Potential Supply.
b) To initiate transfer from Automatic to Manual Control of Excitation on Fuse Failure in
the Generator Potential Signal System.
c) The regulator shall regulate from Generator Current & Potential Signal. The setting range
shall be +/- 10% of Generator Rated Voltage.
d) The above equipment shall be housed in self standing sheet metal cubicle, and shall be
completely tested and wired.

e) The regulation equipment shall function between the frequencies 47 & 53C/s and shall be
maintain a constant Voltage in steady Operating Condition between No Load to Full
Load.
f) The Excitation & Voltage regulation should be designed so as to cause necessary Deexcitation in case of any Short Circuit.
14) TERMINAL BOX
Suitable Alternator Terminal Box Fabricated from Minimum 14SWG MS Sheet duly painted
shall be provided towards Power Output side as well as towards Neutral Side. Each Terminal
Box shall be equipped with Copper Busbar to be supported on Epoxy Resin support Insulator
having Minimum 1.1KV Voltage Grade, to accommodate CTs. Bus Bar shall be suitable to
withstand Short Circuit Level of 50KA for 1Sec and rating shall be at-least 25% higher than
the rated capacity. Space Heater with Thermostat Control for each box shall be provided.

EXCITER
The Diesel Generating Unit & the Auxiliaries shall be Assembled at the manufacturers
Works and the following Test shall be performed:
Four (4) Hrs at Full Load followed by a 1 Hr continuous Load of 110%.

1.1 Supply, installation, testing & commissioning of 500KVA rating Diesel Generating
Set in Acoustic Enclosure along with PMG, Base Frame, Alternator, Static Excitation
System, Lube Oil System, Electronic Governor, Instrumentation , Day Oil Fuel
Tank, Silencer with Bellows, Alarms, Engine Control Panel, AVM Pads, AVR Panel,
Terminal Arrangements including cable termination box with all associated
equipment/ work as per specifications. Alternator shall have Class H insulation and
rated for 400KW output at 47Deg. C, Engine shall not be derated up to 50 Deg. C
ambient.
1.2 DG Set foundation: 01 NO.
Supply, erection including soil treatment, grouting, etc, as per standard civil
engineering norms.
1.3 Auto Changeover, Synchronizing cum Manual Switching (AMF) Panels: 01 SET
Supply, installation, testing & commissioning of above set of panels including ACB of
800 A (or other suitable capacity) rating, Phase indicating lights, other Phase
indicating lights, MFM, Various protection relays like Earth Fault relay, MCBs,
Current Transformers, meters, and other requisites of adequate quantities,
specifications, & capacities, with proper circuit connections. The set of panels shall
ensure automatic start up of DG Set up to standard voltage / frequency levels, and
automatic switching on of the output breaker providing emergency power supply to
the bus of LT drives, and also synchronizing/ manual switching (ON/OFF) of the DG
Set with respect to the existing LT bus (live/ dead).

1.41 Supply, installation, testing & commissioning of Battery with Charger (of reqd.
Voltage and other specifications as per detailed technical specifications of the DG
Set, complete set with all accessories necessary for regular, proper and prompt
monitoring of perfect health of the battery set): 02 Nos.
1.42 Supply, installation, testing & commissioning of Protection Relays, MCBs, Selector
Switches, Push Buttons with NO/NC Contacts, Amp Meters, Volt Meters, Frequency

1.43 Exhaust Pipe: Supply, installation, testing & commissioning of exhaust pipe
fabricated out of 6mm thick MS pipe with all fixing accessories & hardwares. The
exhaust pipes shall be insulated with 75mm thick mineral wool insulation wrapped in
chicken mesh & clad with 24 gauge aluminum sheet including all supporting
structure as required : 01 No..

1. Supplying & laying of following 11000V grade PVC insulated sheathed XLPE
Aluminium conductor armoured cables as per specifications in trenches, trays , ducts
over bed of sand, with anchor fasteners wall with suitable clamps, saddles, fixing

chambers, 50 mm dia medium class GI pipe, CI funnel with 20 gauge GI wire mesh,
masonry chamber 450 x 450 mm with concrete base CI /heavy duty chequered plate
manhole cover with frame painted with bitumastic paint & packing with mixture of
charcoal & common salt around plate electrode including digging of pit up to
permanent moisture level but not less than 3 meters & backfilling as required.
NOTES: Earthing Installations shall include /ensure the following :All fixing accessories such as brass saddles , brass screws, rawl plugs etc.
Jointing by riveting & brazing in case of copper earthing & GI earthing.
Cutting chases holes & making good the same wherever required.
Effecting adequate & proper interconnections.
Use of copper thimbles.
Earthing system shall comply to IS: 3043 1987.
