This question has been answered a billion times, almost everywhere on the internet. I myself have
answered it in more than 10 A2As, and the answer is very simple.
It is "All of them"!
Anyways, since you have asked for a list, I shall give you a list. But this is for the last time. :D :D
6th Standard
1) Geography - The Earth - Our Habitat (67)
2) History - Our Pasts - I (136)
3) Polity - Social and Political Life - I (80)
7th Standard
1) Geography - Our Environment (81)
2) History - Our Pasts - II (157)
3) Polity - Social and Political Life - II (123)
8th Standard
1) Geography - Resources and Development (78)
2) History - Our Pasts - III (79)
3) Polity - Social and Political Life - III (135)

9th Standard
1) Geography - Contemporary India - I (64)
2) History - India and the Contemporary World - I (180)
3) Polity - Democratic Politics - I (114)

11th Standard
1) Geography I - Physical Geography (146)
2) Geography II - India - Physical Environment (102)
3) History - Themes in World History (260)
4) Polity I - Indian Constitution (244)
5) Polity II - Political Theory (160)
6) Economics - Indian Economic Development (201)
12th Standard
1) Geography I - Human Geography (113)
2) Geography II - India - People and Economy (162)
3) History I - Themes in Indian History (Ancient) (117)
4) History II - Themes in Indian History (Medieval) (146)
5) History III - Themes in Indian History (Modern) (178)
6) Polity I - Contemporary World Politics (152)
7) Polity II - Politics Since Independence (197)
There are two Economics books also - Macroeconomics and Microeconomics in 12th std, but I
hated reading those books, so I'm not listing them here. I would recommend you also to not read
them. Just a waste of time.
Total Number of NCERT Books - 30
Total Number of Pages - 4128

If you can read 100 pages per day (Which is very easy to do), then you need atleast 45 days to
finish off the NCERT books.
Before doing anything else, do spend 45 days on the NCERT books. Once you are done reading this,
you need not repeat it ever again, and most of your basics will be ready.
Moreover, some books maybe repetitive, but it is okay, do repeat them. There is nothing wrong in
reading something twice.
After you are done with the New NCERTs (30 Books), do try to get your hands on the Old NCERTs,
especially Geography and History. (Maybe add another 6 books)
So, totally around 36 books, with 5000 pages.
All the very best reading all the NCERT books. Enjoy! You can find all the NCERT books as PDF files
from the official website. Do download them.
Hope I was of help. :)
PS - After you are done with the NCERTs, the next set of books would be - What are 10 great books
that would contribute to the wholesome base nurturing of a civil services aspirant?

As I have answered elsewhere, if you already have a timeline of 2-3 years for cracking UPSC CSE,
then go ahead with NCERT. However, if you plan to do it within one year or if you are making
preparations simultaneously with another job, then its best to avoid NCERT completely and focus
on the proper textbooks for GS and optional.
If you are too keen, then you can read the NCERT books
from Class VII to XII for History, Geography;
Maths from Class VI to VIII
Science from Class VII to X
Under any circumstances do not waste more than 45 days on all the above books.

NCERTs?

Hi,
6-10 Math
History from 6-12 , new or old, honestly does not matter. As Harper Lee in 'To Kill a Moking-bird'
says, 'delete the adjectives and you will get the facts'. Focus on events, names and their effects.
Opinions are your personal perceptions and it's best for them to be neutral.
Science: 6-10. Chemistry 11-12

Physics, Biology, IP, Entrepreneur ship, Economics.

This much should suffice.
All the best.
