Input I/O Modules

Input modules come in two major types, AC and DC

All input modules are optically isolated.
Input modules do not supply any power of their own.
DC input modules come in sourcing and sinking types.
Proximity and optical sensors also come in sourcing
(PNP) or sinking (NPN) types.
The input module and sensor device must be of opposite
types.
