Tentative- March 3, March

We are going to create a walk-through gallery in Clements High

School library showcasing how the advertising world has evolved over time,
and how these ads have affected consumers of each time period. Each
section of the gallery will feature advertisements during chronological eras in
history, with focuses on the portrayal of women in advertisements,

commercial product ads, public service advertisements, and food

advertisements. The interactive section in our gallery will include a large
chalkboard with a compelling question that the audience will be able to
answer with chalk. In addition to this, we will include a passport for GSA
cultural event/NAHS point verification.
We will contact NAHS officers at Clements High School to promote this
event as a point opportunity, incentivizing more students to come. We also
plan to make our event a GSA cultural event. Creating a gallery is an
immense task to tackle, and we would require lots of help to put it all
together. Thus, we will be contacting NAHS officers to possibly include this as
a volunteering opportunity for NAHS members, or asking Clements for
volunteers in general. We will publicize our event through flyers, social media
ads, and a Facebook event promoting this event all through the end of
January and the month of February.
For the gallery itself, we will be printing and possibly laminating the
advertisements using Fedex/Office Depot printers and lamination. We will
possibly use poster-sized styrofoam boards, glue the ads on these boards,
and mount the boards on stands throughout the library. We plan to ask the
CHS Art department (Ms. Reedy) for stands that we can use to showcase
these ads. However, if this doesnt work out, we may need to either ask art
students themselves for stands, or ask venues for stands (Marriott or other
conference room venues) as a last resort. This event will be hosted in the
library at Clements High School.
