Job Location: Mumbai Type: Full-Time paid Overview Formal mentoring programs are growing to be one of the largest and most well-established among youth-focused development interventions. Mentor Me India (MMI) is a Mumbai-based non-profit focused on one-to-one mentoring for children in low income communities. MMIs mission is to empower children in low-income communities (mentees) grow to their full potential by creating and supporting enduring one-to-one relationships with strong role models (mentors). MMI recruits volunteer mentors through a rigorous selection process, connects them to mentees (through partnerships with NGOs and schools in low income neighborhoods) using a matching algorit hm. Mentors are supported through training sessions and group mentoring sessions spread through the year. The organization currently supports over 400 mentor-mentee pairs across 12 centres in Mumbai and plans to become a national level mentoring organization over the next five years. Summary of Role The Fundraising Associate will report to the Executive Director (ED) and will play a crucial role in implementing MMIs vision for growth, which is to not only increase the reach of its program but also increase the richness and depth of existing relationships. The Associate will manage potential and existing donor relationships with corporate organizations, individuals and foundations, and lead fundraising activities such as grant-writing, organizing fundraisers and online crowd-funding campaigns. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with strong ideation, communication, interpersonal and implementation skills. The associate must enjoy a start-up environment, be able to function independently and flexibly and have a strong commitment to excellence. The Associate will work closely with the Operations Manager and Communications Associate. Responsibilities Work with the ED, Operations Manager and Communications Associate to develop Mentor Me India (MMI) fundraising strategy based on growth plans and capital requirement Proactively develop new donor relationships, including: Outreach to prospective donors through various means like grant opportunities, following up with mentor, staff or board member connections, cold contact to corporations Initiate and coordinate discussions to discover value exchange Draft MOUs to lay out partnership terms Lead MMIs Ambassador Program, which consists of mobilizing and managing a team of volunteer fundraisers Work closely with the Global fundraising team to set ambitious yet reasonable targets, and ensure that India targets are met or exceeded each year Manage existing donor relationships, such as performing periodic check-ins and sharing project reports as required, and ensure retention and growth in the relationship over time Support the ED in developing business plans to generate revenue to fund operations and growth Develop and implement crowdfunding campaigns Supervise the integration of donor management into the in-development MMIs technology base and maintain donor database going forward Analyse the effectiveness of fundraising channels and optimizing a mix of channels Organize 1-2 fundraising events per annum in collaboration with new and existing partners

Qualifications Well-developed written and spoken communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Analytical thinking, effective budgeting skills and experience with developing business plans Entrepreneurial mindset, including ability to work independently, self-motivate, and propose and implement new initiatives Ability to think strategically and work efficiently in a time bound manner Organised with attention to detail and quality An outgoing attitude along with well-honed pitching skills Education and Experience Graduate/Post-graduate in a relevant field such as sales and marketing 2-3 years of experience in marketing and fundraising Experience in the non-profit sector and familiarity with the Indian fundraising scenarios is a plus.
