For remote actuation from control room, EPC contractor shall keep provision in
local F&G panel, further integration shall be done from local F&G panel to
control room.

First aid fire fighting equipments (fire extinguishers) and personal protective
equipments shall be provided as per TAC/ OISD in coke handling (storage
yard) area, substation, control room, truck/ rail loading silos etc.
Landing valves on building/ staircases.
Hose reel protection with every landing valve.
Hose cabinets with hoses and accessories shall be provided at all landing
valves/ alternate hydrant location.
Any other specific protection as identified during detailed engineering.
All firewater headers around coke storage yard area shall be kept
underground with suitable corrosion protection to be considered. Tape
coating as per specification enclosed with this package.
Above ground fire water piping shall be painted with fire red paint conforming to
shade no. 536 of IS:5. Painting shall be as per specifications enclosed
elsewhere in the contract document.
The entire fire protection system shall be got approved from TAC accredited
agency. All the comments, modifications etc. suggested by TAC accredited
agency shall have to be incorporated by the contractor without any extra cost
to the owner. OISD requirements shall be satisfied in addition to the
requirements mentioned in the scope of work. CONTRACTOR shall be
responsible for obtaining TAC approval in all respects for the fire protection
system of areas. The contractor shall meet the requirements of
TAC/OISD/NFPA/ recommendations, over and above the requirements which
are mentioned above.
The piping material specification of firewater network shall comply with PMS.
All underground pipes shall be tape coated as per enclosed specifications.
All the equipments connected with fire water system shall either be TAC
approved or BIS marked or from companies which carry ISO certification or
FM/UL listed.

The system shall be designed for maximum insurance rebate.

Radiography
At least 10% of all welded joints shall be radio graphed and shall be found in order.
At least 50% of welded joints selected for radiography shall be field joints.

Fire Proofing
As per OISD specification and as defined in structural section in the tender.

RCC TRENCHES
RCC pipe trenches sand filled with pre-cast RCC cover shall be provided for all Under
Ground (U/G) fire water piping/ headers. Trenches and their covers in crane movement
