It will make the Company self-reliant towards power & steam generation, for future expansion of production lines ‘The Company will be able to generate its own electricity and_meet the requirement of the entire site, The electricity generation cost will be reduced to 50% of the present power cost and that will make the Company more competitive. Some of the highlights of this COGEN project are: = Biggest COGEN plant in Konkan industrial belt - Erection of equipment having total weight in excess of 2500 Metric Tonnes - Laying of piping of more than 5 Kilometers in length - Laying of electrical / instrument cables of more than 40 Kilometers in length = 380 Metric Tonnes of steel & 850 Metric Tonnes of cement used for construction - Erection of RCC chimney of 73 Meters height, - _ Inspite of heavy rain , speed of work not hampered - _Ensured that there was not a single case of safety deviation = About 350 contract workers were on the job for 11 months = Allequipments are high energy efficient with latest technology Mr.R.B.Rathi, Dy.
