1. Earthquake
An

Earthquake is the shaking of

surface of the earth. Earthquake are

measured using Seismometer. In
2008 Earthquake happen in Iceland.
It happen in the north and south of
Iceland. It happen along the
transform faults. To protect yourself
from earthquake you should put
your hand on your hand and sit
under the table.

2.Volcano Eruption

Volcano

is a rupture in the crust

of a planetary mass object. Volcano
allow hot lava, volcanic ash and
gases to escape magma chamber
below the surface.

Volcano eruption happen

because its crust has broken. The
lava fell out from volcano will
melted and it will become soil. If
the volcano is in ocean, when it
explode , the lava will create an
island.

3. Hurricane

Hurricane Ike was powerful tropical cyclone

that swept through portions of the Greater
Antilles and Northern America in
September 2008, wreaking havoc on
infrastructure and agriculture, particularly
in Cuba and Texas.

In addition, Ike caused flooding and significant damage

along the Mississippi coastline and the Florida
Panhandle Damages from Ike in U.S. coastal and inland
areas are estimated at.

A)Meteorological History
Map plotting the track and intensity of the storm according to the Saffir
Simpson hurricane wind scale. (Ike peaked with maximum sustained
winds of 145 miles per hour (233 kilometers per hour) and a minimum
barometric pressure of 935 millibars (27.6 inches of mercury), making
the storm ).

B) Oil and Gas Spill :Hurricane Ike's winds, surge, and giant waves
tossed storage tanks and punctured pipelines. The Coast Guard, with the
Environmental Protection Agency and state agencies, has responded to
more than 3,000 pollution reports associated with the storm and its surge
along the upper Texas coast.

4. Famine
A famine is a widespread scarcity of food caused by several factors included crop
failure, population imbalances or government policies. This phenomenon is usually
accompanied or followed by regional malnutrition, starvation, epidemic,
and increased mortality.

5. Cyclone
Cyclones

are formed from

simple thunderstorms. A storm or
system of winds that rotate about
a center of low atmospheric
pressure, advances at speed of 20
to 30 miles (about 30 to 50
kilometers)an hour, and often
brings heavy rain. Cyclone occur
as an China tropical cyclone rain
full climatology.

6. Drought
A

drought

is a period of below-average precipitation in a given region, resulting

in prolonged shortages in its water supply, whether atmospheric, surface water or
ground water. A drought can last for months or years, or may be declared after as few
as 15 days. It can have a substantial impact on the ecosystem and agriculture of the
affected region and harm to the local economy. Annual dry seasons in the tropics
significantly increase the chances of a drought developing and subsequent bush fires.
Periods of heat can significantly worsen drought conditions by hastening evaporation
of water vapor.

7. Flood

A flood is an overflow of
water. Flood occur as
overflow of water from water
bodies such as a river, lake
or ocean. In Ghana2 people
dead in flood. It happen in
Eastern Region of Ghana.

8. Heat Wave
A

heat wave is a prolonged

period of excessively hot

weather. Heat waves can
occurs in United State. Heat
Wave are caused by a system
of higher atmospheric pressure
heat waves temperature is 5 C
(9 F ).

9. Storm

Storm

is a violent disturbance of the atmosphere with strong

wind and usually rain, thunder, lighting or snow. One storm
happen in Philippine.

10.Blizzard
Blizzard is

a severe snowstorm characyerized by

strong wind causing blowing snow. Blizzard are most
happen in United state in the upper Mid West and the
