HAMPTON - PIGGS PEAK NEWS

Education is not the filling of a bucket, but the lighting of a fire. W.
B. Yeats Dairytown Grooming
The focus of the Hampton-Piggs Peak Partnership is usually on the
young people in Piggs Peak who are struggling to pay for school. In
Swaziland, the school year runs from the end of January to the Large and small breeds welcome
beginning of December. But of course, here in Hampton, this time of
year is one of excitement and celebration as Hampton High School 25 Vail Court, Sussex
buzzes with graduation activities.
As a life-long (almost) resident of Hampton, I have developed a
great affection for this town and an appreciation of the
characteristics that make this a unique and extraordinary Call (506)433-3889
community. I realized long ago that our high school is an integral
part of Hampton's special character. There is a spirit that drifts
through the classrooms and halls at HHS. In Swaziland they call it
"buntfu". Buntfu is the essence of being human and speaks about our
interconnectedness, not only with others in our school or even our
community, but with all of humanity. It is a spirit that compels us to Second Annual Hampton
care for our neighbours and reminds us that our neighbourhood is
the world.
On behalf of the Hampton-Piggs Peak Partnership Committee, I
would like to convey our appreciation to the staff and graduating
WALKATHON by: The Town Chiropractor

students at HHS for their support of our humanitarian efforts over Week Four Walkathon Results
the past few years. In particular, we would like to thank the grad
class for donating the offering from the recent baccalaureate church
service to support education in Piggs Peak. This is one example of
the compassion our Partnership has seen demonstrated by this group
of fine young people … one example of what makes Hampton High
School special. All of Hampton should be very proud of them.
As the current grade 12 class moves on and a new class moves in,
the spirit of buntfu will persist at HHS. It was personified by
students like Tyler Henderson and teachers like John Murphy and,
through them and others like them, has become ingrained in the very
fabric of the school identity. Like Yeats, the teachers at HHS
recognize the importance of lighting a fire under their students; and
the community and students are lucky to have them. We pray this
fire will continue to burn within the graduates and inspire them to
keep making a positive difference in their global community.
On a personal note, my wife, Lisa, and I would like to offer our own
congratulations and best wishes to the graduating class of 2010 and Even small amounts of exercise will reduce your risk of heart disease, and a stay active
approach along with chiro care of course is the absolute best way to treat spinal pain
especially to our daughter, Katie Bettle, of whom we are very proud. and improve functional health.
The standard set by the students of HHS can serve as an inspiration Business Division: Family/Friend Division

LETTER TO THE EDITOR
Donations given to a yard sale recently were disgusting - just plain
junk - old worn out baby car seats which are not allowed to be used
now a-days, rusted camp stoves that had not been used in years,
broken toys, broken household items, torn jackets and coats. The
people trying to raise money for a good cause have to pay to get the
junk hauled away.
If you have to buy something new to replace an item that is worn out,
why expect someone else to use it. Put it in the garbage. Think about it

The Federal and Provincial Governments are helping older workers remain active in the
workforce by investing more than $10 million across New Brunswick and will be
extending the “Targeted Initiative for Older Workers “until March 2012. This support will
help up to 1,000 older workers in New Brunswick acquire new skills and find jobs.
The Targeted Initiative for Older Workers is designed to help unemployed older workers
living in communities affected by high unemployment and/or downsizing. Through the
initiative, these individuals can get the skills they need to find and keep new jobs, or start
their own businesses, in order to keep contributing to their communities and Canada's
economy.
This project will support the community and economic development of the region by targeting employers in sectors facing
labour shortages, and help them address their human resources needs.
