Synopsis of FOLDABLE CAR

In this study of how off-street parking requirements and air pollution affect urban form, we
begin by analyzing the relationship between population density and streets in cities. We
found that denser cities devote a greater share of their land to streets, but also have less
street space per person. This relationship results in part from the difficulty of constructing
new streets in built-out areas. The amount of street space does not increase as fast as
population density, and this in turn helps explain why dense areas have less vehicle travel
per person but higher levels of congestion. In contrast to streets, new off-street parking is
supplied continually, owing largely to minimum parking requirements that make new
development contingent on the provision of parking spaces. But the ample supply of offstreet parking makes traffic congestion worse and inhibits street life.
The increasing population of automobiles has led to various global problems that reflects in
the air we breathe. Contamination of air with harmful gases emitted by automobiles running
on petroleum fuels has led to various global imbalances which is effecting the fitness of the
creator himself.
Concerning about the future, here is a design of a car that can solve the problems of space
consumption for parking and increasing air and noise pollution with a practical and logical
approach.

Problems around us
1. Huge space required for parking!
The automobile as an object has been our industrial civilizations most signicant product.
Its side effects in terms of mass consumption are enormous. The infra-structures of the land
and the urban environment have suffered from a radical upheaval, the historical city centers
have been jeopardized by it, the whole system of transporting goods and people has been
revolutionized and even our vision of things has been transformed, both subjectively in our
mode of perception and objectively in changes to the landscape. Vittorio Gregotti, 1978

2. Air pollution!
The automobile has not merely taken over the street, it has dissolved the living tissue of
the city ... Gas-filled, noisy and hazardous, our streets have become the most inhumane
landscape in the world.

My Design for the future - foldable electric

car.

The Car consists of a heavy base which consists of a battery, driving mechanism, front
wheel hauling mechanism and front part lifting mechanism. The front part is made of a light
materials so that it can lifted with ease. The front hood consists of microprocessor and other
electric circuits to detect the amount of movement in steering, accelerator and brakes. The
front wheels are attached to a component that receives electrical signals from hood and
steers and brakes the wheels according to the electrical signals received.
The foldable concept is an innovative idea to reduce space for parking. The overall length of
the car is reduced by 50% when folded as shown in the figure.

- Safety is a big concern with these vehicles. However, the fluid batteries actually take
impact
better than a fully made gas car, and can help even more in the event of an accident.
- Lower noise pollution as electric cars are noiseless.

Parking strategies become increasingly difficult at higher densities of the transect, but
solutions based on foldable vehicle concepts can minimize impacts on the public realm. The
concept of a small electric vehicle that could be folded and stacked in line greatly
contributes for saving street space for pedestrians and solves the problem of huge space
requirement for parking. This also leads to lesser investment for parking lots with the facility
to park more vehicles.
The best way to reduce urban air pollution is to curb it at its source. Electrified vehicles
would eliminate all the emissions from vehicles, since the end use of electricity is 100
percent clean. The improvements in urban air quality will be dramatic. Just as dramatic
would be the improvement in our energy balance. Electrifying even a small share of our
vehicle fleet will lead to a sharp decline in petroleum use and oil imports.
Electric cars are extremely good as they run on electric batteries that can be re charged
again and again with very less expenditures, while if you talk about gas or fuel powered
cars or vehicles then its not an affordable solution for common people these days. Electric

powered cars runs on combustion Auto parts mechanism which makes possible for cars
owner to run on chargeable batteries and it reduces the amount of money spent on grease,
car maintenance, Oiling, fuel or any other associated cost for gas powered car. On the other
side if talk about eco-friendly and green earth concept, its a pretty huge issue as well on an
international level. Many countries like Israel, Denmark, Australia, and Canada have already
started working on electric powered cars solution for their country people as they want to
reduce noise and air pollution level. In that situation electric powered cars and other vehicle
will certainly be helpful in many other ways.
