    thecable(thiselementiscutatthecentrejoiningpoint).

    TheBoom:
    20mmPVCtubingissmall,butmoreappropriatetothewidthoftheshortelementsandin
    practiceisworkable.(Actualdimensionsare23mmID,26.5mmOD.)

    LeavesufficientdistanceattheendsoftheboomforthePVCcapsandTjoinertobewellclear
    oftheelements.

    Theelementholeswerefirstdrilledto9.5mminbenchdrillpress,andthencarefullyreamed
    outsothattheelementscouldbepressurefitted.

    A19mmholesawwasboredadjacenttothedrivenelementtoallowaccesstofitthecableand
    tightenthescrews.

    Agrommetwasthenfittedtothehole,andUVresistantstretchablesealingtapeapplied
    aroundthistoprovidemorepermanentlongtermprotection.

    TheTjoiner&Clamps:
    TheTwasboredoutlongitudinallywitha27mmholesawtoallowtheboomtofitthrough.

    ThelegoftheTjoinerwasthencutlongitudinallytothewidthofthecoax,soitwouldfit
    throughwheninstallingtheboom.Thecutallowsclampingofthejoinertotheboomoncethe
    boomhasbeenrotated(tuned)tothecorrectslantofthesignal.

    TheTjoinerwasthendrilledacrossthecuttothedimensionoftheclampingbolt.

    Theclampsweredrilledoutwithacentralholetoallowbothclampingoftheboom,andto
    resultinasecuremountingsothattheTjoinercouldnotslipoutoftheclampsovertime,orfall
    whilstloosenedwhentheboomisbeingadjusted.

    CoaxCable:
    Leadskeptveryshort.

    Centreconductorandbraidwerepreloopedandsolderedtothesizeoftheselftappingscrews.

    Aholewasdrilledinoneendcapandagrommetfittedtoprotectthecoaxcable.Thiswasthen
    subsequentlysealedwithstretchablesealingtapeforlongertermprotection.

    Installation:
    Theboomcanberotatedandclampedatthecorrectslantpolaritytomaximiseperformance.
    Here45degreesclockwise.
