Time of Dedication

Introduction
Chanukah is a 8-day feast known as the feast of dedication or the festival of
lights, celebrated by our Jewish brothers on the beginning of the 25th day of
Kislev (Nov Dec). The Hebrew word "Chanukkah" literally means
"dedication", and this observance goes hand in hand with the lighting of
chanukiah (9 branch menorah) that historically reminds the people of the
rededication of the Temple. This history is found in the Book of the
Maccabees.
Q Why are the Books of the Maccabees not included in the TaNaK (Old
Testament)?
After the defeat of the Greeks by the Jews, the war heroes were given the
status as kings, known as the Hazmonean kings of Israel, under the
leadership of Simon, Judah and Jonathan Maccabaeus. These kings were
influenced by the Roman culture and wanted to merge state and religion.
These roles used to be separate where the King looked after the political side
of the nation and the High Priest looked after the spiritual side of the nation.
This led to Jonathan appointing himself as king and High Priest and that made
the Rabbis furious.
This resulted in the Rabbis to focus the celebration of Chanukah more
towards the spiritual side and the rededication of the Temple, rather than the
physical victory over the Greeks. As a result of this, they excluded the two
Books of the Maccabees from the TaNaK (Old Testament).
The story of the oil that lasted 8 days is found in the Writing known as Nagilah
Ta-anid, the scroll of fasting. This second Temple era writing contains all the
days and feasts where it is not permitted to fast and Chanukah is listed as one
of these festivals. This scroll contains the story that predominately focuses on
the rededication of the Temple and the miracle of the oil that lasted 8 days.
Weather this story is accurate is debatable and only made its appearance in
this writing many years later as a result of the dispute between the Rabbis
and the Jewish Hazmonean kings.
Q - What is significant about this feast and why do we study it?
1

In the Second Book of the Maccabees, which quotes from a letter sent
roughly around 125 BCE from the Hasmoneans, to the leaders of Egyptian
Jews, reveals that this holiday is called The festival of Sukkot celebrated in
the month of Kislev, rather than Tishrei, which usually falls in September.
This was because the Jews were still in caves fighting as guerrillas on Tishrei,
164 BCE, they could not properly honour the eight-day holiday of Sukkot,
which is a 8-day celebration; hence it was postponed until after the recapture
of Jerusalem and the purification of the Temple.
Q Why did they choose to celebrate Sukkot to rededicate the Temple?
2 Chr 7 recorded the celebration of Sukkot to rededicate the Temple which is
a 8 day festival. We later read in 2 Chr 30 that they celebrated the Passover
late because of the Sanctuary and the Priests that were not cleaned in time
for the Feast. King Hezekiah ordered the Passover to be celebrated in the
second month (different to what the Torah dictates) and they kept it for two 7
day periods, and YHVH was pleased. I believe that was why they celebrated
the Feast of Sukkot on 25 of Kislev as a Temple rededication celebration. I
believe that YHVH was pleased with the Jews when they celebrating Sukkot
on 25th of Kislev, rededicating the Temple after its defilement, still wanting to
honour Him. This makes this celebration in line with the intent to celebrate
Sukkot and not because of pagan influence.

Appointed Times and the Work of the Messiah

The Feasts of YHVH, (not Jewish Feasts), are called mo-ed or appointed
times, where YHVH has an appointment with man to do His work, known as the
Work of the Messiah. This feast is not found in the Torah (first 5 Books of the
Scripture), as celebrated on 25th of Kishlev, but this historic event is prophesied
in the Book of Daniel, chapter 11.
Some believe that the feast of Chanukah is mentioned in the Book of John
(John 10:22) in the Brit Chadasha (New Testament), that proves that Yshua
celebrated it. This feast is referred to as the Feast of Dedication, another name
for Chanukah, but it the preceding events are linked to Sukkot, that is also
known as the Feast of Dedication and the Feast of Lights. The context of John
10 leans more towards the feast of Dedication being Sukkot rather than a new
feast called Chanukah. This confusion is cleared up with the fact that Chanukah
was actually a late celebration of Sukkot. Chanukah (late Sukkot) is a Jewish
historical event that has a prophetic significance that relates to the rededication
of the future Temple, that makes it significant for us to study. Yshua referred to
this prophecy in Matthew 24, and therefore confirms its significance. It is up to
the individual if they want to celebrate Chanukah the traditional way with our
Jewish brothers or not. If you want to celebrate it accurately, you should keep
Sukkot like they did back then. Personally, I acknowledge the historical event
and all its prophetic significance and is a good time to discuss the end time
events as revealed by this prophetic event and the end time prophecies
surrounding it.

Chanukah, Matthew and the End Times

In this section, we will see that the prophecy in Daniel 8 and 12 was fulfilled by
the event that happened at the time of the Maccabees, involving the defilement
and the rededication of the Temple.

Yshua taught on this same prophecy in Matt 24, but links it to the event that is
still to come, related to His second coming. This will fulfil Daniels prophecy twice.
Spiritual Insight: Prophecies can be fulfilled more than once and prophetic
cycles or patterns can occur prior to the main event that prophecy is
revealing. This is known as birth pain, events the woman in labour is
experiencing, these contractions or prophetic cycles are similar in nature
(look and feel) as the main event. Every time she feels a contraction, she
expects the main event, namely the birth, and prepare herself for the coming
of her baby. In the same way, will prophetic cycles precede the main event
that will be birthed into the world.
The history captured in the Book of the Maccabees and the feast of Chanukah
the birth pains that precedes the final birth of the Messiah, the King building
and dedicating the final Temple. The other thing about prophecy is that it is not
predicting the future, it is revealing the future Plan of YHVH. YHVH knows the
future because He knows the Plan and He has the power to bring it to fruition.
This prophetic pattern has been fulfilled in the time of the Maccabees,
and it adds detail to what we can expect, thus making it prophetic
significant, giving us insight into the future main event, that is the second
fulfilment of the same prophecy. What is interesting is, that this pattern
was repeated in 1941, in the time of WW2 where Jews had to flee the
system after being persecuted during the time of the Holocaust. This
event was depicted in a movie called Defiance, where Polish Jewish
brothers saved and recruited Jews from Belarus, in order to escape and
defend themselves against the Nazis. I recommend that you see this
movie.
We will look at the events of the past fulfilment to learn from its wisdom so that
we can apply it in our time if we are in the times of the end. The Book of the
Maccabees was included in the 1611 edition of the King James Bible and taken
out for various reasons that will not be discussed in this study. Studying the
Book of the Maccabees, and the history of this historic event will prepare us for
the future event that shares the same prophecy.

The Maccabees and Fulfilment of Daniels Prophecy

It all started with Nebuchadnezzars dream where he saw a
great statue with a head of gold, an upper body of silver, a
lower body of bronze, legs of iron and feet of iron and clay with
ten toes. Then a big rock came and hit the statue at its feet
and destroys it. Daniel interpreted this dream as follows:
The statue represents the following kingdoms:
Head of Gold Babylon
Breast of Silver Medo-Persia kingdom
Belly and thighs of Brass Greece
Legs of Iron Rome
o Feet with ten toes of Iron and Clay Rome divided
under ten Rulers (kingdoms).
o
o
o
o

From the Roman Empire came Ten Kings representing the ten toes:
1. Augustus
2. Tiberius
3. Gaius Caligula
4. Claudius
5. Nero

6. Galba
7. Otho
8. Vitellius
9. Vespasian
10. Titus

We see the prophecy of Daniel being fulfilled and proven by these kingdoms
existence in history. What is interesting is that the head, or Nebuchadnezzar,
destroyed Jerusalem in 586BC, and Titus, the tenth toe, destroyed Jerusalem
and the second Temple about 700 years later on Tisha bAv ( 9th of Av) in
70AD. Since then there has never been a physical Temple as prophesied by
Yshua in Matt 24:2.
In the dream, a Rock came and destroyed the statue,
hitting it at its feet. This Rock grew and filled the whole
earth. This Rock is none other than the Messiah as
referred to in Deut 32 as the Rock of Salvation (Yshua).
This is the Kingdom of YHVH that came into being and
spread across the World after the First Coming of
Messiah and the destruction of the Temple in 70 AD.
Surely this is not all that can be seen from the
interpretation of Daniel. There is also a future
application to this vision, and it will play out as part of the end time events
leading up to the last days as Yshua suggested in Matt 24.
The meaning of the belly and the Bronze objects represents
Greece; there is yet another vision Daniel saw that is
associated with Greece and that is the prophecy of the onehorned Goat in Daniel 8:
Dan 8:5-7 And as I was watching, behold, a he-goat
came from the west, over the face of the all earth, and
did not touch the ground. And the he-goat had an
outstanding horn between his eyes. (6) And he came to
the ram that had two horns, which I had seen standing before the river,
and ran to him in the fury of his power. (7) And I saw him come close
beside the ram, and he was moved with anger against him, and struck the
ram and shattered his two horns. And there was no power in the ram to
stand before him. But he threw him down to the ground and stamped on
him. And none could deliver the ram out of his hand.
Prior to this Goat, he saw a Ram with two horns, one slightly longer than the
other. This Ram represented the Medo-Persian Kingdom as we saw in
Nebuchadnezzars statue, depicted by the Silver Breast. The Goat with a
single horn came from the west (Greece) and killed the Ram. This Goats horn
was none other than Alexander the Great. This goats horn was later broken off,
and we see in history that Alexander died at a young age after conquering the
known world.
Dan 8:8 Then the he-goat became very great. And when he was strong,
the great horn was broken. And in its place came up four outstanding
ones (horns) towards the four winds of the heavens.

After his death, the kingdom was

divided among his four generals;
Antigonus, Lysimachus, Seleucus
and Ptolemy. These four generals are
the four horns described in Dan 8:8.
Later on, Ptolemy and the Seleucids
fell into war with each other and Israel
was right in the middle of the conflict,
which made Israel a very strategic
location.
Dan 11:22,25,28 Then an
overwhelming army will be swept
away before him; both it and a
prince of the covenant (Onias III)
will be destroyed. With a large army
he will stir up his strength and
courage against the king of the South (Ptolemy VI of Egypt). The king of
the South will wage war with a large and very powerful army, but he
will not be able to stand because of the plots devised against him. The
king of the North (Antiochus) will return to his own country with great
wealth, but his heart will be set against the holy covenant. He will take
action against it and then return to his own country.
Soon after taking power, on his way to invade Egypt, Antiochus invaded
Israel, stealing all the gold and silver furnishings from the Temple. He had
Israels last legitimate High Priest, Onias III, murdered and from then on the
office was sold to the highest bidder, with the money going to Antiochus.
Centuries later a Seleucid king, Antiochus Epiphanies rose up as a leader and
we see him as being referred to as the little horn that came into power in 168
BC. He came from Syria and his mission was to replace all the cultures with
Greek culture (Hellenising). Hellenising is the process of absorbing everyone
into the Greek culture.
Dan 8:9-14 And out of one of them came forth a LITTLE HORN,
which became very great, toward the south and toward the east and
toward the bountiful land. (10) And it became great, even to the host of
heaven. And it made fall some of the host and of the stars to the ground,
and trampled them. (11) Yea, he magnified himself, even to the ruler of
the host, and the daily sacrifice was taken away by him, and the
place of his sanctuary was cast down. (12) And an army was given to
him against the daily sacrifice because of transgression, and it cast the
truth to the ground. And it worked and succeeded. (13) Then I heard a

certain holy one speaking, and another holy one said to that one who spoke,
Until when shall the vision last, concerning the daily sacrifice and the
transgression that astounds, to give both the sanctuary and the host
to be trampled? (14) And he said to me, for two thousand, three hundred
evenings and mornings. Then the sanctuary shall be vindicated.

This Little Horn stopped the daily sacrifices and threw the
truth to the ground; he was no other than Antiochus
Epiphanies who fits the description exactly. He forbids
Sabbaths, sacrifices to the God of Abraham, circumcision
of children and the learning or teaching of the Torah, the
Word of YHVH. He ordered that all Torah Scrolls to be
burnt and if anyone was caught doing any of these
things, they were put to death.
1Ma 1:20-23 And after that Antiochus had smitten Egypt, he returned
again in the hundred forty and third year, and went up against Israel
and Jerusalem with a great multitude, (21) And entered proudly
into the sanctuary, and took away the golden altar, and the
candlestick of light (Menorah), and all the vessels thereof, (22)
And the table of the shewbread, and the pouring vessels, and the vials.
and the censers of gold, and the veil, and the crown, and the golden
ornaments that were before the temple, all which he pulled off. (23) He
took also the silver and the gold, and the precious vessels: also he took the
hidden treasures which he found.
We see from the prophecy in Daniel 8 refers to 2300 mornings and evenings.
Some believe the 2300 mornings and evenings are 2300 years that led up to
1844, expecting the return of Messiah. This interpretation was not correct
because the 2300 mornings and evenings referred to the daily sacrifices,
making it 1150 days or just over 3 years. There were two sacrifices each day,
one in the morning and one in the evening; this gives a total of 2300 sacrifices or
1150 days where there were no sacrifices. This shows that it cannot be used as
2300 days or years and we will soon see the correct interpretation of this number
as it unfolds in history and story of the Maccabees as it was fulfilled.
Q - Do these events fit the criteria of Antiochus stopping the sacrifices?
We have the exact date where he set up his Image in the Temple; this was
15th day of Kislev in the year 167 BCE, where he defiled the Temple by
sacrificing pig on the altar. All we need is the end date to confirm the 2300
mornings and evenings prophecy.
The Maccabees fought and conquered the Greeks
in various battles and YHVH gave them the
victory every time. These battles lasted for three
years where after they cleansed and re-dedicated
the Temple on the 25th day of Kislev in 164 BCE.
This happened 1105 days after the
Abomination of Desolation was first erected in
the Temple. There is a 45-day discrepancy with
the prophetic number in Daniel.
Q What does this 45 mean? We will find out at the end of this study.
Prophetic Application: These were the morning and evening sacrifices
that were stopped, and will be stopped again. The Sanctuary and the Truth
was trampled of and will be trampled upon again, thrown to the ground.
After this time the Sanctuary was cleansed and restored and prophetically
shows us that it will be cleansed and restored in the future.

Antiochus Depicting Anti-Messiah

Daniel further describes this Little Horn as the stern-faced king,
one who exalted himself above YHVH and any other gods. This is
the spirit of the Anti-Messiah and of Satan, and this spirit will arise
again in the end of the age. We have studied what the work of
Messiah is and that is depicted by the seven Festivals of YHVH.
Now we are going to look at the work of the Anti-Messiah and what
he will come to do.
Dan 11:31-35 And forces will stand from him, and they will
profane the sanctuary, the fortress, and shall remove the
daily sacrifice, and they shall place the DESOLATING
ABOMINATION. (32) And he will ruin by flattery those
who do evil against the covenant. But the people who know their Elohim
will be strong and will work. (33) And those who understand among the
people shall teach many; yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame,
by exile, and spoil, for days.
(34) And when they stumble, they shall be helped with a little help, but
many will join them, with hypocrisy (Hellenized). (35) And
many of those who understand shall stumble, to refine and purge them,
and to make white, to the time of the end. Because it is still for the
appointed time (mo-ed).
In 168 BC Antiochus broke into the Temple, converting it into a pagan worship
centre in honour of the Greek god Zeus (called Jupiter in Roman mythology).
Instead of the blood of bulls and goats, he sprinkled water in which pork had
been boiled in the Holy of Holies and slaughtered pigs on the altar. Then he
erected a statue of Zeus in the Holy Place, with his own face on it, thereby
proclaiming himself to be God. Antiochus called himself Epiphanes, meaning
god made manifest. Because it rendered the Temple unfit for worshiping God,
Jewish historians called this act the Abomination that Causes Desolation, the
only event in history so named. It triggered the Maccabean Revolt.
We have learned from the history and actions of Antiochus that he forbids the
keeping of Sabbath, the omitting of the sacrifices, ban the circumcision of
children and the learning or teaching of the Torah. All these things done by
Antiochus was done under the influence of the spirit of the Anti-Messiah, and
this spirit will come again in the end times to do the same, persecuting
YHVHs people, taking away the freedom to worship YHVH. People will be
forbidden to read their Bibles, assemble in a church building and be killed if
they are followers of YHVH.
Matt 24:15 speak of these same events and point out to us that it will have a
future application as well and that is why it is important to learn about the
historical events regarding the Maccabees and teach people about the detail
of the Abomination of Desolation and the spirit or character of the AntiMessiah during the celebration of this historic event, so that people can learn
about end time prophecy and be prepared.

The Second Little Horn

Reading Daniel chapter 7, you learn of a new little horn that will
arise. The previous little horn as seen in Dan 8 and Dan 11, came
from the four horns of Alexanders Empire, who was Antiochus in
the time of the Maccabees. In Daniel 7 we read of another little
horn that arises out from the ten horns that come from the terrifying
beast of described in the Book of Revelation. This second little horn follows
in the pattern of Antiochus and the spirit of the Anti-Messiah, and is the
eleventh horn spoken of, that came from the fourth beast.
Dan 7:7-8 After this I looked in the night visions, and behold, a fourth
beast, frightening and terrifying, and very strong. And it had
great iron teeth; it devoured and broke in pieces, and stamped the rest
with its feet. And it was different from all the beasts before it;
and it had ten horns. (8) I was thinking about the horns, and
behold, there came up among them ANOTHER LITTLE HORN,
before whom three of the first horns were uprooted. And behold,
in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great
things.
We read about this beast with ten horns in Revelation as well.
Rev 13:1-5 And I stood on the sand of the sea, and I saw a beast
coming up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns.
And on its horns were ten crowns, and on its heads was the
name of blasphemy. (2) And the beast which I saw was like a
leopard, and its feet like those of a bear, and its mouth like the mouth of a
lion. And the dragon (Serpent) gave him its power and its seat
and great authority. (3) And I saw one of its heads as having been
slain to death, and its deadly wound was healed. And all the earth
marvelled after the beast. (4) And they worshipped the dragon
who gave authority to the beast. And they worshipped the
beast, saying, Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war
with it? (5) And a mouth speaking great things was given to it,
and blasphemies. And authority was given to it to continue
forty-two months (3,5 years).
The Beast described in Revelation is the system that will be given authority
by the dragon (Serpent) and he will speak great blasphemies and will have
authority over the earth for the last 42 months (3,5) years, prior to the coming
of Messiah the King, Massiach ben David. The little horn (spirit of AntiMessiah) will get its final power when three horns are uprooted, then the
period of 42 months or 3,5 years will start. This will be the time known as the
Great Tribulation, where the little horn, similar to Antiochus, will oppress and
persecute believers in Messiah, as we have seen in the time of the
Maccabees. The history will repeat itself and the detail in the story of the
Maccabees has prophetic significance for the end time events that is to come.
The righteous will be handed over to be persecuted for the times, time and
half a time or 3,5 years.
Q Is the Great Tribulation 7 years or 3,5 years?
The overall period according to Josephs interpretation of Pharaohs dream
was two 7 year periods. One 7-year period of prosperity and one 7-year
period of the famine or tribulation.
8

Dan 9:25-27 Know therefore and understand, That from the going forth
of the command (decree) to restore and build Jerusalem until Messiah the
Prince, There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; The street shall
be built again, and the wall, Even in troublesome times. Then after the
sixty-two weeks the Messiah will be cut off and have nothing, and the
people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the
sanctuary. And its end will come with a flood; even to the end there will
be war; desolations are determined. 27"And he will make a firm
covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he
will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of
abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete
destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes
desolate."
First Work of Messiah: This passage starts off with the prophecy
regarding Messiahs first work, the One Who will be cut off (executed) and
the City and Sanctuary be destroyed (Happened in 70AD). The Hebrew
word translated as weeks only means sevens and relate to years, 7
sevens and 62 sevens giving a total of 49 and 434 years respectively.
Adding 483 to 49 (seven sevens) takes us to the time of 29 AD when
counted from the decree made by king Artaxerxes to rebuild the Temple in
454 BC.
Second work of Messiah: Reading from verse 27 we learn about the
Covenant made with many, implying the nations, which relates to the second
work of Messiah. (Read p9 of Parashah 6 Toldot for detail). This has to do
with the nations coming into the Kingdom that will be completed in the last
week or the seven-year period prior to His Coming. In the midst of this
week (7-year period), the sacrifices will be stopped and on the wing of the
abominations will come the one who makes desolate, connecting to the image
that is known as the Abomination of Desolation. The midst of this week
starts 3,5 years into this 7-year period, and these two signs will signal the
starting of the time known as the Great Tribulation. This is the same time
period as we have seen in the history of the Maccabees as well as in Dan 11,
given as 1290 days (3,5 years), as confirmed in history. (Refer to Chart at
back of document).
Dan 7:25 And he shall speak words against the Most High, and shall
wear out the saints of the Most High, and plot to change times and
laws. And they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and
one-half time (3,5 years).
The new little horn (Dan 7:8) from this beast system, sets himself up to
change the appointed times or set times and laws. From a Biblical
perspective, when you speak of set times or appointed times, it means ONLY
the moedim or Festivals of YHVH, His Calendar, His Shabbat and His Holy
Festivals. And from a Biblical perspective, when you speak of laws, it ONLY
means the Torah, the Commandments of YHVH. The dominant religion of that
time that has been Hellenised, took away the Sabbath, the Festivals or
moedim and the Torah and persecuted the Jews during the dark ages.
Traces of this spirit is still found within some Christian denominations today,
therefore, let the reader understand

The Great Tribulation

Yshua revealed the following when they asked about
the time of the end.
Mat 24:3-14 And as He sat on the Mount of
Olives, the disciples came to Him privately,
saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? And
what shall be the sign of Your coming, and of the
end of the world?
(4) And Yshua answered and said to them, Take
heed that no man deceive you. (5) For many will
come in My name, saying, I am the Messiah, and
will deceive many. (6) And you will hear of wars
and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled, for all these things
must occur; but the end is not yet. (7) For nation will rise against nation,
and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines and pestilences
and earthquakes in different places. (8) All these are the beginning of
sorrows. (9) Then they will deliver you up to be afflicted and will kill
you. And you will be hated of all nations for My name's sake. (10) And
then many will be offended, and will betray one another, and will hate
one another. (11) And many false prophets will rise and deceive many.
(12) And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many will become
cold. (13) But he who endures to the end, the same shall be kept safe.
(14) And this gospel of the kingdom shall be proclaimed in all the world
as a witness to all nations. And then the end shall come.
All these things mentioned here are the beginning of the end but is not the
end yet. All these things will take place to set the premise for the Anti-Messiah
that will enable him to set up his kingdom to deceive and control the whole
world prior to the coming of the real Messiah. I call this the Pre-Tribulation
Time or the time prior to the Tribulation.
Q- When will the Tribulation begin?
Mat 24:15-26 Therefore when you see the ABOMINATION OF
DESOLATION, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the
holy place, let the reader understand. (16) Then let those in Judea
flee into the mountains. (17) Let him on the housetop not come down to
take anything out of his house; (18) nor let him in the field turn back to
take his clothes. (19) And woe to those who are with child, and to those
who give suck in those days! (20) But pray that your flight is not in the
winter, nor on the Sabbath day; (21) for then shall be GREAT
TRIBULATION, such as has not been since the beginning of the
world to this time; no, nor ever shall be. (22) And unless those
days should be shortened, no flesh would be saved. But for the elect's sake,
those days shall be shortened. (23) Then if any man shall say to you, Lo,
here is Messiah! Or, There! Do not believe it. (24) For false Messiahs and
false prophets will arise and show great signs and wonders; so much so
that, if it were possible, they would deceive even the elect. (25) Behold, I
have told you beforehand. (26) Therefore if they shall say to you, Behold,
He is in the desert! Do not go out. Behold, He is in the secret rooms! Do
not believe it.

10

Sign of the Anti-Messiah: There will be a sign showing the coming of the
Anti-Messiah and there will be a sign for signalling the coming of the real
Messiah. The time of the Great Tribulation will be signalled by the setting up
of the Abomination of Desolation as prophesied in the Book of Daniel as well
as found in the history of the Maccabees that happened in 167 BCE. The AntiMessiah will start his reign from this time and will last for 3,5 years.
People will think he is the real Messiah and many will be deceived by his false
signs and wonders.
Mat 24:27-31 For as the lightning comes out of the east and shines even
to the west, so also will be the coming of the Son of Man. (28) For
wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered.
(29) And IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE TRIBULATION of those
days, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
and the stars shall fall from the heaven, and the powers of the heavens
shall be shaken. (30) And then the sign of the Son of Man shall appear in
the heavens. And then all the tribes of the earth shall mourn, and they
shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of the heaven with power
and great glory. (31) And He shall send His angels with a GREAT
SOUND OF A TRUMPET, and they shall gather His elect from the four
winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
Sign of the Real Messiah: Prior to the sign of the real Messiah there will be
destruction, and the eagles will feed on the dead. This is as a result of the
events that happened during the Great Tribulation as prophesied in the Book
of Revelation. The sign of the real Messiah will be revealed after the Great
Tribulation; the sun and the moon will be darkened, stars will fall from heaven,
and there will be a great shaking. The sign of the Son of man will appear in
the heavens, and everyone will see Him.
The elect will be gathered with the sounding of the great trumpet (shophar).
This sounds similar to the event at Mount Sinai when YHVH appeared on the
mountain; the earth shook, and there was the sound of a great trumpet.
Do not be Deceived: We saw two signs; the last is the sign of the Messiah
signalling the end of the Tribulation and the first sign revealing the AntiMessiah, signalling the start of the Great Tribulation. Scary thought is that the
Church is expecting the Messiah at the beginning of the Tribulation, but that is
when the Anti-Messiah will appear to deceive many. People in the world are
not awaiting a Messiah and therefore will not be deceived by a false Messiah,
the Christians, the Jews and the Muslims will.
Q - Where else in Scripture do we see these signs?
Dan 12:11-12 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be
taken away, and the DESOLATING ABOMINATION set up, a
thousand two hundred and ninety days (1290) shall occur. (12) Blessed
is he who waits and comes to the thousand three hundred and thirty-five
days (1335).
Dan 8:13-14 Then I heard a certain holy one speaking, and another
holy one said to that one who spoke, Until when shall the vision last,
concerning the daily sacrifice and the transgression that astounds,
to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trampled? (14) And he said
to me, For two thousand, three hundred evenings and mornings (2300).
Then the sanctuary shall be vindicated (blameless).

We see the same terminology used by Daniel as well as Yshua

in Matthew; the Abomination of Desolation set up, but not only
that, we also see that there will be sacrifices again and these
sacrifices will be stopped. This gives us Two Witnesses
confirming the truth regarding the beginning of the Great
Tribulation. In order to sacrifice, there must be an Altar and the
plans for the rebuilding of the Temple. All of these things are
already in place and are being prepared by the Temple Institute
in Jerusalem. They have already made all the art effects of the
Temple; the Menorah, showbread table, utensils, even the priestly garments.
They have the plans for the new Temple, the cornerstone and even the Altar.
They have trained up Levites in conducting sacrifices and facilitating the
temple service. This shows us that the fulfilment of this prophecy is closer to
than you think.

Time Periods in the End Times

Daniel gave us three time periods; 1290 days, 1335 days and 2300 mornings
and evenings (1150 days). The history of the Maccabees recorded the time of
the rule of Antiochus was 1105 days. The difference between 1335 and 1290
days are 45 days and the difference between 1150 (2300 sacrifices) and 1105
days are 45 days. Both have two signs at the beginning of these periods, the
sacrifices being stopped and an Image set up.
Spiritual Insight: I always wondered why this 45-day difference exist and
why they are blessed who have the 45-day advantage. The wisdom
revealed to us is found in the history of Book of the Maccabees where the
45 days reveals the time difference between the sacrifices being stopped
and the image set up. As soon as you see the sacrifices started again and
stopped, then you have 45 days to get out of the system and flee to the
mountains as Yshua advised, prior to the Image and the starting of the
reign of the Anti-Messiah. (See detail in the Chart at the end of this
document)
The fulfilment in the time of the Maccabees set the blueprint for end time
events and will clear up any misconception, and we will fit the detail of these
events into the outline of Daniel and Johns (Revelation) prophesies to get a
clear picture without any confusion and misunderstanding regarding the end
time events. This makes the recognising of the historical event that happened
on the 25th of Kishlev of great significance for us as believers in Jesus /
Yshua today so that we can be prepared and not to be deceived.

The Real Meaning of Chanukah

The feast of Chanukah is actually the late
celebration of the Feast of Sukkot, after the
reclaiming and rededication of the Temple in 164
BCE. The Feast of Sukkot, also known as the
Feast of Tabernacles, the Festival of Lights, as well
as the Feast of Dedication. Chanukah is not a new
Feast but a late celebration of the Feast of Sukkot
celebrated after they defeated the Romans and sanctified the Temple unto
YHVH.

The story of Chanukah is the story of light glowing in the darkness Wherever
there is light; darkness will battle against it to consume it and take it out. The
story of Chanukah is about Hellenism and that of Torah. Hellenism is the
language of Humanism, Philosophy and Theology. Torah is the language of
Mitsvot (Commandments), deeds and revelation. So, this battle is constantly
going on as the spirit of the Anti-Messiah try to nullify the things of YHVH and
replace them with modern humanistic thinking and worship. This battle will
reach a climax at the end of the age during the time when the last three Feasts
will be fulfilled by Messiah Yshua.
During these challenging times, believers in the Body of Messiah faces this
battle and tend to take sides that cause division amongst believers. We do this
because of our background and because of the fact that we all have been
Hellenised to some extent. We have a Greek way of thinking, our education is
based upon Greek Philosophy, and our faith is influenced by Greek mythology
and Greek idol worship. (No offence to Greek people). Our Western world and
society is based upon these Greek principles, and we have to unlearn all these
cultural Hellenistic ways, deeds and methods. These Hellenistic doctrines have
found its way into the Church and have been taught from pulpits for years. We
have been thoroughly Hellenised right from the time of Antiochus until now and
the battle goes on... This spirit, the spirit of the Anti-Messiah was at work even
in Pauls time among the believers.
2Th 2:3 Let not anyone deceive you by any means. For that Day shall
not come unless there first comes a falling away (apostasy), and the man
of lawlessness shall be revealed, the son of perdition,
What is the apostasy? It is the man who would bring lawlessness or
Torahlessness, the son of destruction. When we talk about the Messiah we
speak of the Son of YHVH but when we talk about the Anti-Messiah, we
speak of the son of destruction. He is the spirit or man with no Torah.
If this spirit was actively working among the people in Pauls time, how much
more now as we draw near to the end of the age? Guard your hearts and do
not let the spirit of Anti-Torah come into your Temple and trample upon
YHVHs holy Feasts, His Holy Commandments and His Holy things,
Hellenising the way you worship the Father.
May you use this festival as an opportunity to learn and to prepare yourself for
the things that are to come, and may you be found worthy in the eyes of
Yshua Ha Massiach, our Master and King.
