Following are a tentative list of prospective sponsoring agencies for financial support for participating
in national and international Conference and research related work. There can be more number of
sponsoring agencies and schemes, which the faculty members are requested to individually make
efforts and apply. The information given below is not complete, SURE and may change. Hence the
faculty members are also requested to visit the respective notices/web sites for detailed and updated
information.

Chhattisgarh Council of Science & Technology has a scheme under which, financial assistance towards travel cost is considered for
participation in International Seminar/Symposium /Workshop/Conference etc .
The council provides 50% air fair, a maximum of Rs.25, 000/- travel grant. In year 2004-05, 07 scientists & teachers have been

TRAVEL GRANT SCHEME FOR COLLEGE TEACHERS/COLLEGELIBRARIANS/VICE ANCELLORS/COMMISSIONMEMBERS


AND UGC OFFICERS XII PLAN (2012-2017):
This scheme is for providing financial assistance to permanent teachers and librarians of colleges and vice-chancellors
of state universities, deemed to be universities and central universities, recognised under section 2(f) and 12 (B) of the
UGC Act, to present research papers at international conferences abroad. In addition, this facility is available to the
permanent teachers of Institutions of National Importance with a cap of 10% of the total approved cases in a year. The
Commission members and UGC Officers at the level of EO/US and above are also eligible to apply under this scheme.

AICTE-INAE TRAVEL GRANT SCHEME FOR ENGINEERING STUDENTS


An AICTE-INAE Travel Grant Scheme for Engineering Students to present papers abroad has been launched for
enhancing the quality of engineering education in the country. The objective of the scheme is to provide partial travel
assistance and registration fees to Bachelors and Masters Level engineering students for presenting a research paper in
an international scientific event (conference/seminar/symposium/workshop/exhibition etc) in order to encourage
engineering students to engage in research. The proposal(s) received duly completed in all respects will be evaluated by
subject experts. The completed application form may kindly be sent to INAE office through email at inaehq@inae.in as well

International Travel Support (ITS) ITS scheme is designed to provide financial assistance for presenting a research paper
or chairing a session or delivering a keynote address in an international scientific event (conference/seminar/ symposium
/workshop etc.). In addition, support is also provided to young scientists (age limit 35 years as on date of conference) for
attending training programmes and short-term schools/workshops/courses. Economy class air-fare by shortest route,
airport-tax and visa fees are provided under the scheme. Registration Fee is provided to young scientist in addition to the
above support.

General Instructions
He/ She should have passed M.Sc/ BE / MBBS or equivalent degree and is a research scholar. His/her age should be not
normally be above 40 years on the date of commencement of the conference. His/her age should not normally be above 40

His/her paper should have been accepted for presentation. A copy of the full paper along with an abstract and letter of
acceptance from the organizer must be appended with this application.
The theme of the Conference should invariably be related to the thrust areas/activities of the CSIR laboratories.
No two proposals from the same institute, even for different conferences, may be considered at a given time.
Only those scholars, not employed on regular basis, and not receiving travel support in the previous three years are

A copy of Air India memo indicating Excursion Air fare must accompany the form.
The scholar sanctioned a travel grant from CSIR is required to give a report enclosing a copy of the abstract, book etc.

SIR RATAN TATA TRUST & NAVAJBAI RATAN TATA TRUST


Travel grants are provided to the students proceeding for post-graduate and doctoral studies and for professionals
proceeding for their mid-career programmes or to attend relevant and meaningful seminars and conferences abroad.
The grant to students consists of only a partial international airfare from India to the university / organisation
abroad. The students proceeding for fall session (July, August and September) are requested to submit their
personal application to the Trusts, after finalising the university they intend to join. The last date for applying to the
Trusts is May 31 every year. Students proceeding abroad for the spring session are requested to contact the Trust s
three / four months prior to their departure, after finalising the university.
