7 Sins of Our Educational System
Because of a system of forced and uniform education, education is more harmful than helpful.
Despite public school teachers being aware of many problems within the education system,
public education remains compulsory and uniform. The author argues that a lack of diverse
curriculum, students are becoming conformists who lack skills of critical thinking.
Although I agreed with many of the authors points, I disagreed with the use of the term,
prison to describe schooling. While the current education system may be detrimental, prisons
are inherently different from schools. Prisons are meant for rehabilitation, although they do have
very strong connotations of punishment. Schools, however, are meant to educate and introduce
ideas. Comparing the two is incorrect and misleading.
