Four Things God and Coffee Have in Common!

BY

CALEB

If you know me, you know that I am very passionate and dependent upon two things
in my life, Jesus and Coffee. Admittedly, I stumbled across this list on Facebook a
while ago and have since made some adjustments. Some of these may come across
as silly, however, I think they can have some spiritual benefit to all of us!
1. God and coffee are always there in the morning. Every morning I am
comforted by the presence of God and His willingness to meet with me and
teach me about Himself through His word. The morning is my favorite time of
the day even though sometimes it is hard to get out of bed. Mornings are the
best because I know that I have a cup of coffee waiting on me to get me
through the day, it is always there, just like God.
2. God and coffee are faithful to their promises. Coffee is packed with caffeine,
unless, of course, you buy decaf. But why would anyone want to do that? That
is like eating turkey bacon instead of regular bacon. Or worse, its like
drinking skim milk when you could be drinking regular God promises to
sustain us, to love us, to provide for us, to redeem us, and He is always
faithful to us.
3. God and coffee wake you up. Coffee and a morning workout tend to always
wake me up from stumbling around the house. A lot of times, I need to be
woken up from the stupor of the nights sleep. Coffee does that. More
importantly, God wakes us up out of our sinful stupor and gives us new eyes
to look at the world. He helps us see where we are wrong or blind, weak or
failing, and gives us the strength to face those challenges and the grace to
change.
4. God and coffee always love you. Coffee is like having a dog. It makes you
smile, it always loves you, and it is your best friend. However, coffee smells a
lot better than a dog, which is why I have coffee, not a dog. God loves us
unconditionally He has a heart for His children, He smiles upon us when we
obey and love Him. He is patient with us, and empowers us to do good.
Whether you find coffee to be of benefit to you in your day, which I hope you do
My strong desire is that you will find God to be the greatest benefit in your day. He
loves you, he desires a relationship with you, and He will never forsake you!
With love,
Caleb Taylor
