The purpose of a FEED study is to ensure that all main elements of the chosen design
solution are defined and that the scope of the whole job is understood sufficiently
such that a target cost estimate and schedule can be prepared.
The following list provides a guideline to discipline input required for a generic
modification including long lead equipment items. At the Kick-Off meeting,
deliverables, which are relevant to each specific modification, should be agreed.
Piping:
Offshore surveys
Produce piping layouts, composite ISOs and material estimates (Prelim based on
FEED P&IDs)
Produce valve schedules, line lists and tie-in schedules (Based on FEED P&IDs)
Instruments:
Prepare data sheets for new actuated valves and issue enquiries to obtain accurate
costs.
Prepare ESD, F&G and Control System Specification (Issued IDC/Comments
incorporated)
Prepare Instrument schedule (Based on FEED P&IDs)
Establish impacts on metering package (if applicable enquiry issued for budget
costing).
Mechanical:
Produce Mechanical data sheets and specifications for the equipment package(s).
Process:
Produce P&IDs and ESD Block Logics for FEED / HAZOP (Issued HAZOP
comments incorporated)
Resolve HAZOP actions.(Outstanding actions to be identified)
Provide Data sheet input for equipment and control valves, PSVs and general
Instrumentation.(Issued for enquiry)
Electrical:
Establish modifications required to the existing switch gear and issue prelim
enquiries to establish delivery and cost. To include PDC modifications and
offshore installation and commissioning costs.
Review Lighting and trace heating requirements.
Perform an offshore Survey to establish cable routings and modifications required
(including instrument cables).
Weight estimate
Safety:
F&G Philosophy
Structural:
Construction:
Maintenance :
Provide estimate for producing PMRs, spares lists and SAP input as part of detail
design deliverable.
Equipment maintainability reviews (if applicable).
All Disciplines :
In addition to the above all disciplines will produce CTRs (as per agreed WBS) and
input to costing as required to produce a level 4 cost estimate for the P phase of the
project.
Bidders lists for all major equipment packages to be agreed.
