Guidelines for Supervisor/Co-supervisor(s)
All the supervisor / Co-supervisor(s) are requested to follow these guidelines during the coursework of
your candidate(s).
1. Prepare & submit the syllabus for the Term Paper 1 and Term Paper 2 along with question
bank to the coordinator.
(a) Term Paper 1 and Term Paper 2 subjects will be decided by the supervisor and cosupervisor based on the topic of research of the candidate.
(b) Each Syllabus should contain 5 units uniformly distributed as per CSVTU scheme.
(c)
Syllabus should include 5 Course Objectives and 5 Course Outcomes, at least one from
each unit.
(d) Syllabus should mention two textbooks and at least two reference books.
(e)
Syllabus should be prepared in such a way that it can be completed in one semester.
(f)
Question bank should content of 25 long questions (10 marks each), that include 5
questions from each unit. Each question may have sub parts.
2. Evaluation of Term Paper 1 and Term Paper 2
(a)
There will be two assignments each for TP1 and TP2. Assignment 1 should cover unit 1
& unit 2(10 questions of the question bank).
(b) Assignment 2 should cover unit 3, unit 4 & unit 5 (15 questions of the question bank).
(c)
Assignment 1 carries 10 marks and assignment 2 carries 15 marks.
(d) The assignment questions will be from the respective question bank.
(e)
Submit the evaluated assignments to the coordinator as per the Academic Calendar.
3. Presentation for Term Paper 1, Term Paper 2 & Literature Survey
(a)
There will be two presentations for Term Paper 1, Term Paper 2 & Literature Survey
separately as per the Academic Calendar and it will be conducted by DRC committee of the
respective department.
(b) First presentation for Term Paper 1 & Term Paper 2 should include Unit 1 & Unit 2 which is
of 10 marks each. The presentation should include the summary of the units and its
significance in research field.
(c)
Second presentation for Term Paper 1& Term Paper 2 should consist of Unit 3, Unit 4
& Unit 5 which is of 10 marks each. The presentation should include the summary of the
units and its significance in research field.
(d) There will be two presentations for literature survey, 1st presentation consists of 30 marks
and 2nd presentation consists of 45 marks. For date of presentation will be as per Academic
Calendar.
(e)
The presentation of Term Paper 1, Term Paper 2 & Literature Survey will be at the
respective department and is evaluated by the Supervisor and DRC committee of the
department.
(f)
The candidate will submit the report of the presentation for Term Paper 1, Term Paper
2 & Literature Survey, duly signed by candidate, supervisor / co-supervisor(s) and DRC
committee along with softcopy in CD/DVD.
(g) Each presentation will be of 15 minutes.
4. Attendance of TP1, TP2 and literature survey will be maintained by supervisor/Co-supervisor(s).
On the basis of attendance TP1 and TP2 carries 50 marks and literature survey carries 75 marks.
The attendance sheet will provided to the candidate. At the end of session attendance sheet will be
submitted by the candidate to the coordinator duly signed by Supervisor & Co-supervisor.

Guidelines for Ph. D Candidates
All the candidates have to follow the following guidelines
1. Class Test for Research Methodologies and Computer Application (RM & CA).
(a) There will be two class tests for RM & CA, as per the Academic Calendar.
(b) CT-1 will cover unit 1 & unit 2 and is of 40 marks with duration of two hours.
(c) CT-2 will cover unit 3, unit 4 & unit 5 and is of 60 marks with duration of two hours.
(d) To appear in the ESE examination candidate should have 75% of attendance as per
CSVTU rules.
2. Examination of Term Paper 1 and Term Paper 2
(a) There will be two assignments each for TP1 and TP2. Assignment 1 should cover unit 1 &
unit 2(10 questions of the question bank).
(b) Assignment 2 should cover unit 3, unit 4 & unit 5 (15 questions of the question bank).
(c) Assignment 1 carries 10 marks and assignment 2 carries 15 marks.
(d) The assignment questions will be from the respective question bank.
(e) Submit the assignments to the Supervisor / Co-supervisor as per the Academic Calendar.
3. Presentation for Term Paper 1, Term Paper 2 & Literature Survey
(a) There will be two presentations for Term Paper 1, Term Paper 2 & Literature Survey
separately as per the Academic Calendar.
(b) First presentation for Term Paper 1 & Term Paper 2 should include Unit 1 & Unit 2 which
is of 10 marks each. The presentation should include the summary of the units and its
significance in research field.
(c) Second presentation for Term Paper 1& Term Paper 2 should consist of Unit 3, Unit 4 &
Unit 5 which is of 10 marks each. The presentation should include the summary of the
units and its significance in research field.
(d) There will be two presentations of literature survey, 1 st presentation consists of 30 marks
and 2nd presentation consists of 45 marks. For date of presentation follow the Academic
Calendar.
(e) The presentation of Term Paper 1, Term Paper 2 & Literature Survey will be conducted by
DRC committee of the respective department.
(f) The candidates must submit the report of the presentation for Term Paper 1, Term Paper 2
& Literature Survey, duly signed by candidate, supervisor / co-supervisor(s)(if any) along
with softcopy in CD/DVD.
(g) Each presentation will be of 15 minutes.
(h) During the literature survey the candidate is expected to read atleast 50 quality Journal /
Conference papers of his/her topic of research. The presentation should contain the
summary of these papers and the gap found which can be his/her research topic.
4. Candidates should maintain 75% attendance for TP1, TP2 and literature survey. On the basis of
attendance TP1 and TP2 carries 50 marks and literature survey carries 75 marks. The
attendance sheet will provided to the candidate. At the end of session attendance sheet will be
submitted by the candidate to the Co-ordinator duly signed by Supervisor & Co-supervisor.
