Work Experience

Date Started : 1-09-2016

Place Of Work : C+F Tooling,
Cashla,
Athenry,
Co- Galway.
C+F Tooling is a factory which manufactures sheet metal products and
components for companies such as Thermo King, EMC, IBM and
caterpillar. A subsidiary company of C+F Tooling is C+F Green Energy
which is also based on the same site. My work experience here
commenced at 8 a.m. with an induction and tour of the factory. I then
shadowed the Health And Safety Officer. Because of insurance , age
and safety reasons I was not allowed to gain experience in the main
operative area. However , I was given the responsibility of subassembling computer components for E.M.C. which is a big international
computer company
I was nervous and a little apprehensive going into the factory , but once I
was introduced to some employees and I got my whereabouts , I settled
in fine. The staff were informative and helpful which made it easier to
settle in. I was told that the parts I assembled for E.M.C. were to the
value of $350 a part so I had to be particularly careful in case I made a
mistake, but I managed just fine and soon got the hang of my duties. I
had a break at 10 a.m. for 15 minutes, lunch was at 1:15 p.m. for 30
minutes and my working day finished at 4:30 p.m. It was a longer day
than I am used to but I enjoyed it.
