report of Central Electricity Authority (CEA), the Peak
Power Deficit of Punjab is expected to be 6% in July as
demand is to exceed 11,200 MW against availability
of 10,525 MW. Whereas 60-70 MW is being
generated by our biomass power projects, so we have
the opportunity to provide a good solution of power
production by baling the paddy straw and use it as the
fuel for biomass power projects.”
“Till date the mechanization level of India is very low,
the total market holding of the combine harvester is,
‘4000 units per year. We need the appropriate
solutions to fill the vacuum. So many international
players want to jump-in to the business, everyone is,
looking towards india as a potential market and where
this country gong to move, we look at the Germany,
95% of mechanized agriculture, you
can only look at the replacement or introduce a new
technology to beat the older one, not to filla vacuum.
For example, we have only 40-45% mechanization in
wheat crop, only 10% mechanization in maze. So
taking 45% level of mechanization to 95%, we need to
add many thousand of the machines in Indian farms.
India has a huge potential in Agriculture technology
sector. We have a customer in Punjab, who is using,
‘our machines since last 30 years and it still works
perfectly with no complain and break-downs, We
never talk about the cost of the machine; we are keen
to provide the Return of Investment. CLAAS builds
‘technology. We believe to deliver the technology
before the product. CLAAS is expert to know about
the application of the product. We also have a buy-
back scheme for our machines; one can exchange his
cold machine with a brand new, directly from CLAAS.
We work on perfection, after sale service and
‘maintain the quality is the backbone of our business.”
He continues
Punjab is a leader in bringing technology and
mechanization solutions to the agrarian economy and
Nabha town is the hub of mechanized farming
solutions, This is the second remarkable development
by CLAAS in the state of Punjab, the first being its
state-of-the-art factory near Morinda town. The
opening of the CLAAS Brand centre is an indication
that the company will launch new, high quality
products to meet mechanisation needs of farmers
looking for means to improve operating efficiency.
