I am writing to introduce myself and to let you know I have an interest in the position of Pet Care
Associate at your location on Cochran Street. I would like this job because I am very passionate
about animals and think that this would be a good fit for me.
I have not had any prior work experience, although I am very logical and responsible. In my free
time, I like to paint and write, and I have 3 pets that I take care of. Two cats and one dog, and
they are my favorite animals to ever exist. I love animals because theyre always so friendly and
even if theyre not they will warm up to you as long as you treat them well, and take care of
them. I dont only love just cats and dogs though, I love all animals. They all somehow manage
to help humans emotionally when we need it, so I think itd be a really nice opportunity to help
with taking care of them.

1. Whats the difference between priority deadline, rolling deadline, and regular deadline?

-Priority deadline is when the ones submitted during that time take priority before the ones
submitted after that deadline. Rolling deadline is when students can submit their application
within a large period of time during that deadline. Regular deadline is when students can apply
within a shorter period of time and will be considered but not guaranteed for admission.

2. How expensive are textbooks and how can I get them for cheap?
- Sometimes, theyre so expensive that students just wont buy them.

3. If you need to, when can you drop a class?
- Most colleges have set dates where you can drop a class and request a refund and it wont be
listed on your transcript as a withdrawal.

4. Should you get tutoring in university?
- It is a good idea, but it depends on how well you are doing.

6. Whats the difference between college and universities?
- Colleges generally only offer undergraduate degrees. Universities offer undergraduate and
graduate degrees.

-Depends on your preference. Within dorms, its basically already got a friend group set up, and
its usually easier to not sign a lease on a rental place.

8. Is it better to do online classes or actually go to a college/university campus?
-Its easier to schedule classes around your day if you go to school online. Its a lot more flexible
than going to a university. Although, going to a university provides easier access to friendship

9. Can you transfer from a U.S. university to a university outside of the U.S.?
-You can, but you have to apply as an international transfer since youre a permanent resident of
the U.S. You may lose credits depending on if theyre transferable and you might take extra time
to complete your degree.

10. Whats the difference between state and private universities?

-Private universities are usually much smaller and they offer more degrees or options generally
and state universities are usually much bigger with less specified options. Private school classes
are usually much smaller than state universities.

III. Quick writes and Brainstorms

Quick Write #2: There are moments where I look at myself and I think, wow, I havent really
accomplished anything. Looking back, though, Ive actually accomplished so much. The most
memorable moment where I realized I totally and royally screwed up was during tenth grade,
when I completely flunked all (almost all) but two of my classes for a whole semester and my
counselor said I had to go to Apollo High School to recover all of my missing credits. I was
completely heartbroken but after a short while I was super set on getting back to Santa Susana
instead of just moping about it. I ended up staying at Apollo for longer than I had originally
planned, because I began to really like it and it most definitely wasnt as bad as I made it seem to
be when I was there at first. After a year or so, I recovered all of my credits and was even a little
ahead. It required lots of work and motivation, but I finally got back to Santa Su. I may not have
reacted in the best way at first, but I learned from my mistake and during that little learning
period I met many people who taught me many lessons (not directly) but I feel as though it was
their purpose in my life. To just teach me something and move on. They all helped me grow as a
person. As a result of all of this, I have enough motivation and determination to do whatever I
want.

Dear Fin:
I feel completely and utterly unprepared for the next stage of my life and I know youve given
me tips and little hacks but I feel so stressed and not ready, even though Im probably more ready
than a lot of my friends. I cant really stress how much I do not know about this year. Senior
projects? I havent even turned anything in for that, I still dont know what Im doing and college
admissions essays? What the heck do you even write about? Yourself? Whyyyyyyyyy. I dont
wanna write about myself, Im not even that interesting. Theres no way I can even make myself
sound interesting. Oh well.
