Terms students will learn:
Basins- A region drained by a river and its tributaries.
Arid- Having little or no rain so that the area is too dry or barren to
support vegetation.
Oases- A fertile spot in a desert where water is found.
Subsistence farming- Self-sufficiency farming in which the farmers
focus on growing enough food to feed themselves and their
families.
Commercial farming- Farming for a profit, where food is produced
by advanced technological means for sale in the market.
E. Disciplinary Connections
History- Students learn a short history of Africa that includes the
early times, kingdoms and colonies and the modern era.
Government- Students learn about examples of African
governments.
