Sri Sri University

Faculty of Naturopathy and Yogic Science

CAMPUS

Sri Sri University is sprawled across a 185-acre campus,

located on the banks of a tributary of the Mahanadi,
between Bhubaneshwar and Cuttack in Odisha.
The wi-fi enabled campus houses the admin block,
academic block, computer lab, library, seminar halls,
practice halls, hostels, Vidya (skill training centre)
and cafeteria. The university offers sports facilities
including a gym and a basketball court.

After completing my post graduation and working for 23 years in the health care sector, I was looking for something that
will ensure physical, mental and spiritual well-being. The Masters Program at Sri Sri University offers wonderful, path
breaking education in the science of yoga.

Sri Sri University

Envisioned by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar ji, humanitarian and spiritual leader and founder, The Art of Living Foundation,
Sri Sri University was established in 2009 as a centre for world-class education in India. Driven by the firm belief that
high quality education and a top-notch learning experience can be made available right here in India, Sri Sri University
provides students with a blend of cutting-edge technology and core spiritual wisdom, thereby nurturing successful and
ethical individuals. The University thus offers an education that integrates Western innovation with the spiritual values
and wisdom of the East.

Faculty Mission and Vision

Vision

way of life for good health, peace and prosperity with naturopathy as the system of choice for wellness and rehabilitation
to good health.

Mission
To be a centre of excellence in naturopathy and yogic science by harnessing ancient wisdom and enforcing result-oriented
advancement in a harmonious process of teaching, learning and research.

Objectives
To create centres of excellence in yogic studies.
To promote practical life skills allowing graduates to sustain a yogic lifestyle in modern society.
To offer a blend of yoga and management to create employable yoga entrepreneurs

This is a unique program. The faculty is very good, they communicate with every student. My classmates
and the surroundings of SSU help me uncover my talents. I feel blessed to be a part of this university.
In my view, this is the happiest campus.

Pedagogy
The Faculty of Naturopathy and Yogic Science at Sri Sri University incorporates a variety of teaching methods, involving
both classical learning and practical hands-on techniques. The course curriculum is unique to the university and
incorporates traditional yoga philosophy with yogic techniques relevant to present-day lifestyles. Students stand to
benefit immensely from contemporary classroom learning techniques coupled with a traditional yogic gurukul way of
life which includes morning yoga-asanas and meditation, karma yoga, devotional chanting, periods of silence (mauna)
and a controlled diet (mitahara).
The evaluation process is both flexible and academically rigorous, implemented through a series of tests, surprise quizzes,
assignments, case studies, live project presentations and other assessments.

Grading and Evaluation

The Faculty of Naturopathy and Yogic Science follows a nine-point grade evaluation system as prescribed by UGC under
choice-based credit system. Grading for each course will be determined from:
Final and mid-term tests (written and viva)
Individual assignments
Class participation
Group assignments
Presentations
In case of Summer Internship Projects at the Art of Living Yoga centres, feedback from Reporting Managers will also be
contributing to the final grade. There will be extramural credits for sadhana (spiritual practices), seva (social service) and
