On the day of the Assignment you will need to bring with you all relevant information that you have
collected, written or printed on two A4 sheets of paper. You will be provided with a question booklet
on the day to complete within the normal class period (80 minutes).
Note:

1. You will not be allowed to use web-enabled devices


2. Extra writing materials would be provided if requested.
3. Your research information must be submitted with the task.

The assessment task will be based on the following Syllabus dot points:

describe Galileos analysis of projectile motion


discuss the effect of the Earths orbital motion and its rotational motion on the launch of a
rocket
analyse the changing acceleration of a rocket during launch in terms of the: Law of
Conservation of Momentum forces experienced by astronauts
identify data sources, gather, analyse and present information on the contribution of one of
the following to the development of space exploration: Tsiolkovsky, Oberth, Goddard,
Esnault-Pelterie, ONeill or von Braun
