Perform Dancing in the Rain in its entirety with voices, movement, and instruments

Sing the first and second lines of the song to students and gesture for them to repeat
after you
Sing the third and fourth lines of the song then have students repeat after you
Go through the whole song and gesture for the students to repeat after you
Adding Movement
Explain that since the first two lines have stepwise motion, they will step to the left (in a
circle) for the first and second line of the song
Explain that since the last two lines of the song have skips and leaps, they will skip to the
right
Tap rhythm on the hand drum and pass two of them to two students
Assessment:
How well did the teacher include and engage each student in the lesson?
Did the teacher explain and define step, skip, and leap motion efectively?
Are the students able to define step, skip, and leap?
Did students correctly sing the pitches and play the rhythms of Dancing in the Rain?
Materials:
Cd track number 1-37, singing voices, Making Music Textbook (Third Grade Level), body
percussion, movements, hand drum, xylophone, and-piano
