Level; L50: Fifty Percentile Sound Pressure Level; L 10: Ten Percentile Sound Pressure Level; L 5: Five Percentile Sound Pressure Level;
Lmax: Maximum Sound Pressure Level; L eq: Equivalent Sound Pressure level; L d: Daytime average Sound Pressure Level; L n: Nighttime
Average Sound Pressure level; dB(A): Decibel A-Weighted; GoN: Government of Nepal; IFC: International Finance Corporation; WB:
World Bank; EHS: Environmental, Health and Safety.
Remarks: The daytime and nighttime observed sound pressure level at the monitoring site were 48dB(A) and
40dB(A) respectively. Except daytime sound pressure level, the nighttime average sound pressure level complied
the prescribed permissible limit of GoN 2012 {L d: 45dB(A); Ln: 40dB(A)} for rural settlement. Similarly, the
observed average sound pressure levels complied the prescribed IFC/WB General EHS Guidelines, 2007 {L d:
55dB(A); Ln: 45dB(A)} for residential receptor.
